Health Promotion Strategies
Always eat a balanced diet to get plenty
of energy and nutrients (Lavie, et al.,
2018).
Skip the junk food such as sugar, alcohol,
excess amount of caffeine.
Skip the dairy products as it contains
natural hormones from animals are should
not mix with body’s hormones.
Adequate rest is essential for a healthy
endocrine system.
Quit smoking or tobacco as it damages
the endocrine and immune system (Lavie,
et al., 2018).
Do plenty exercises as it increases
hormone secretion.
The endocrine system is the set of glands
which generate hormones that is responsible
for the regulation of metabolism, healthy
development, tissue mechanism, sexual
function, reproduction, sleep, and mood
(Perle & Dintzis, 2018).
Age related changes
Some hormone levels decline with aging, but
certain hormones stay at levels characteristic
of those of younger people, and others rise
further. Even though levels of hormones do
not decrease, endocrine activity usually
declines with age, as receptors of hormones
are less receptive. Some hormones that
decrease include are Estrogen in women,
Testosterone in men, Growth hormone and
Melatonin (Vitale, Cesari & Mari, 2016).
Gender related changes
The main hormones in both males and females
are called androgen and estrogen. The testes in
males is responsible for producing androgen an
d ovaries in female is responsible for producing
estrogen. Generally speaking, females and
males have similar kind of hormones
like estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone,
but their secretion sources, blood quantities,
and associations with various bodies, processes,
and apparatuses vary. Declining hormone levels
in women contribute to menopause.
Testosterone rates normally drop slowly in
