Energy Resource Report
One of the major source of energy is the use of the wind power energy which is generated
through the use of wind turbines. The wind energy is a renewable source of energy which relies
on the wind blowing on a region to generate electricity (Armaroli & Balzani, 2011). Many Peaks
Island has been found to have a strong wind which blows hard especially up to the volcanos. The
turbines can therefore be situated at this area to help in generating energy. The presence of these
wind is important in generating energy in this region. The energy generated from this means can
use the energy from the wind turbines for commercial as well as domestic use around Many
Peaks Island. As the wind blows, they make the wind blades to move therefore rotating and
capturing the kinetic energy and therefore transforming the kinetic energy into mechanical
energy. There is an internal shaft which is connected directly to the gearbox. The gearbox helps
to increase the speed of wind by a factor of 100 and therefore help increasing the factor of
generating the electricity (Jacobson & Archer, 2012). The high generated speed is able to help in
spinning the generator in order to produce the electricity. A speed of about 6 or 9 miles per hour
is enough to start generating electricity and this is speed is available on the volcano area of Many
Peaks Island.

Another key source of energy which can be implemented at Many Peaks Island is the use
of tidal power energy. Tidal energy is defined as a form of hydropower which is generated from
tides and converting it into the electrical energy. Tidal energy generation is more sensitive to
speed (Obaleye, 2017). It has been found that when the water speed doubles, the speed of
generation increases by eight times. The predictions of tides are high than the wind and even sun.
The tides have been able to cause a lot of losses to many countries over the world and it is high
time to benefit from them. The use of the tidal energy has both economic and environmental
benefits. These are some of major reasons for choosing this type of energy in Many Peaks Island.
In addition, the island is near the sea and therefore tides are common in the region. Tide mills are
used to generate the energy. The tide water is captured in a large storage ponds and then as the
tide goes out, the waterwheels are rotated and therefore generating mechanical energy. The
falling water and spinning turbines to create the electricity (Breeze, 2019). Tidal energy is a form

of renewable energy. The tidal energy in the region can be used for domestic and commercial
uses in the region. Nevertheless, the environmental factor where the turbines can kill the marine
animals is high. The design of turbines which turn off when the animals approach has been
invented to mitigate this environmental factor thus making the tidal energy generation safer.
