Introduction
Most of the industry has faced a big issue because of climate change. It has
changed the business processes, which are in favour of climates, such as
products, and services. Climate change issues have changed the business
environment, as it is a huge potential issue in front of the whole world (Alexander,
2014). There are many benefits of environmentally friendly products and
services. There are many changes required in the business processes to
overcome, various issues and challenges. Disruptive Low Carbon Innovation
(DLCI) is a solution for solving climate change issues form the overall world
(Urban, et al., 2013). In addition, there are many good things in environmentally
friendly products and services. The United Kingdom has provided new policies to
secure the environment from various things, such as pollution, poverty, and
many others (Forrester, 2018). This report will explain about the partnership
between the private sector and the public sector, which belong to industrial
strategies. It will be a strong foundation for the economy. It will discuss about the
quality of infrastructure and business environment. It will analyse grand
challenges, which are necessary for managing clean growth (Baregheh, et al., 2009).
This report will base on the energy sector, which has affected climate change. It
will be provided a regulatory framework and policy to mitigate climate change. In
this report, innovation theory will provide other examples to understand the
concept behind all the innovations. It will consider the energy supply sector to
describe the disruptive innovations.
Threats to the business of Energy Supply Industry
There are many organizations, which are working on solving climate change
issues. The UK government has taken few steps to overcome this issue, as it is a
huge challenge, which does not reduce form a single country (Brooks, 2013).
Moreover, the UK government has faced various issues because of climate
change in its energy supply sector as well as the private sector also faced
challenges. There are many bad impacts of climate change on the business
environment. Many businesses affected form climate change, such as retails,
healthcare, education, energy sector, transportation, agriculture, and many more
(Bulkeley, et al., 2010). The UK has faced huge challenges in various services, such

as water supply and electricity supply. Most of the private industry has faced
losses in their business because of bad weather conditions and climate change.
Most of the industries have changed in their products and services because of
climate change. There are some technical issues in the changing of products and
services, which is not possible because of cost and time. Moreover, people can
help with climate change issues. However, the government should aware about
the impact of climate change on the future generation (Christensen, et al., 2015).
There is some major impact of climate change on the energy supply sector,
which areas:
Damage to building and operations:
There are many things in the supply chain sector, which have used for managing
the business of the energy supply system. There are many things, which make
an impact on the working. There are many changes in the timing and schedules
of working because of bad weather conditions. Many times, buildings have
collapsed because of extreme bad wither conditions, which makes a huge impact
on the operations of the energy supply business (Drucker, 2014). It is a huge risk
in front of the government and the private sector companies, which deals with
energy supply. Many times, equipment is damaged because of the critical
conditions of weather. Transportation is also affected by various things, such as
flooding and others.
Employees are necessary to manage all the operations of an energy supply
business. However, the company has provided proper facilities to the employees,
which is good for their business. Moreover, employees are facing transportation
(Forrester, 2018).
Opportunity Cost:
The energy sector is based on the generation and distribution of energy in
various fields, it is a huge infrastructure, which is most popular in the country.
Moreover, there are many good approaches to manage the distribution of energy
in different sectors. Most of the industries are based on energy systems, such as
manufacturing processes, development processes, and many others. It has
provided various opportunities to save costs from different departments.
Moreover, public sector companies have used renewable energy sources to save
cost and time (Foxon, 2013).
