Introduction:
The organisation which has been selected for this report is Intel. Intel Grammatically
refers to intelligence and innovations. The organisation Intel is a Multi-national organisation
based in America and is one of the key manufacturers of the semiconductor devices which are
mostly used by the personal computers, the organisation started its journey in the year of 1968 on
July 18th. The organisation was founded by Gordan Moore and Robert Noyce (Intel.in, 2019).
Intel has also been associated with the introduction of the SRAMs along with the DRAMs in the
market of technology. However, the organisation has now been capable of gaining a Top position
amongst the topmost merchants using selling a different kind of semiconductive products. In the
market of evolving technologies, computers are seen to be associated with playing a very vital
role in terms of communication and network technologies. This particular situation, in turn, has
been associated with helping the organisation a lot in getting evolved in terms of bigger sales and
reputation (Baeza, Valencia & Baeza, 2018). Besides this, the statistical survey which was
conducted in the year of 2016 has been associated with stating the fact that the value of the net
assets of the organisation was around US$113.3 billion and along with this the employee count
was also seen to be around 106,000. Until the year of 1980, the key business which Intel had
included the production of the SRAMs and the DRAMs.
The key invention which was seen to be associated with changing the entire graph of the
organisation in a unanimous manner was the invention of personal computers. After the
introduction of the personal computers, Intel was seen to have become one of the major suppliers
of the semiconductor, which were used by the personal computers Intel.in, 2019). Besides the
usage of the semiconductors in the personal computers manufactured by Intel had been
associated with putting forward of a strong competition against the other companies such as the

AMD or Advanced Micro Devices and Microsoft. Some of the major customers of the
organisation Intel were associated with including the Dell which contributed around 20%,
Lenovo which was associated with contributing around 15% and lastly HP which was associated
with contributing around 10% of the total revenues which the organisation Intel gained. The
secret factor behind the success of the organisation was identified, and this included the
company’s initiative of making continuous updates in the products in a parallel manner with
respect to the current technologies (intel.in, 2019). Besides this, one of the existing employees of
the organisation had been associated with stating the fact that “there should not be a single
person who would be deserving all the credits related to success”. In addition to this, the
employee also highlighted the fact that the success can be achieved using a collaboration along
with a valuable innovation of the employees assisted by programmed management.
History of Intel:
As discussed earlier the company had been associated with a long journey in the year of
1968 on 18th July and had been capable of becoming one of the prominent organisation being
associated with the supplying of semi-conductor devices to the entire world. Followed by this
when the personal computer was introduced, Intel had been capable of becoming the major
suppliers associated with supplying semiconductors for the different devices which were used by
the Personal computers and this included the processors along with the other important parts
(intel.in, 2019). The first product which was launched by Intel was the 3102 Schottky TTL
bipolar 64-bit Random Access Memory or the SRAM which was considered to be having a
speed that was double the Schottky which were used previously before the introduction of the
SRAM. The first product of the organisation Intel included the shift Register memory along with
the Randon access memory integrated circuits and this product acted as the one which had been

associated with helping the organisation Intel to grow as a market leader despite the fierce
competition which was put forward because of the DRAM, SRAM, and ROM markets
throughout the 1970s. The organisation Intel had also been associated with the production of the
1024 bit ROM along with MOSFETs. From the year 1970, the business conducted by Intel has
started to increase in a rapid rate as they have been associated with the implementation of the
new manufacturing procedures along with being associated with increasing the production scale
as well. In the year of 1983, at the dawn of the personal computer era, Intel's profits came under
increased pressure from Japanese memory-chip manufacturers, and then-president Andy Grove
focused the company on microprocessors. Grove has been associated with describing this
transition in the book known as the “Only the Paranoid Survive”. One of the key element of his
plan included the notion which was followed by considering of the radical related to becoming
the single source for successors to the popular 8086 microprocessor (Pestana et al., 2019).
Followed by this the organisation Intel have later been associated with the introduction of the
Microcomputers and have been associated with putting forward of an increased competition
amongst many of the other semiconductor companies.
In the year of 1984, Intel has been associated with starting “The Intel Scientific Computer
Division” which was seen to be dependent upon the Intel microprocessors which were connected
in the hypercube topologies. However, in later days when the demands related to
microprocessors have decreased, and sales started to drop from the year of 2001. However,
despite this decreased sales in the year of 2005, the organisation have been associated with
concentrating upon the core processors and the company is seen to have been associated with
receiving a positive review related to the processors with respect to the “Nehalam Architecture”.
Followed by this in the later days, the momentum of the organisation had seen to have changes

and the sales have also seen to have increased in a good manner (Bondi et al., 2018). In the year
of 2006, Intel had been associated with selling its XScale business to the Marvell Technology
Group by an amount of $600 million. However, in the year of 2008, Intel has been associated
with starting the shipping of the solid-state drivers. In the year of 2011, Intel was seen to have
started the manufacturing of the microprocessors in their new manufacturing unit. Around 75%
of the products of Intel are manufactured in the United States, and almost 75% of the customers
are seen to existing overseas. In the same year of 2011 Intel has started to pilot project in
collaboration with the ZTE corporation to produce mobile phones, Because of the PC declining
rules of 2006, Intel has been associated with cutting around 12000 jobs. During the 1990s the
organisation Intel had been associated with making huge investments upon the new designs of
the microprocessors helping in the development along with helping in having a rapid growth of
the computer industry (Rajagopalan & Krishna, 2018). Besides this, the huge investments made
by the Intel has also been associated with helping the organisation in becoming the most
dominant supplier of microprocessors for the PCs and was also become well-known because of
the aggressive and the anti-competitive tactics adopted by the organisation for defending its
position in the market. This particularly included the defence against the Advance Micro Devices
along with being associated with struggling against the organisation Microsoft so as to have
control over the direction of the PC industry.

environment (CHEN et al., 2018). Besides this it would also be associated with the generation of
an ideal flight pattern over a specific selected area where the data gets collected and are handled.
Besides this, the exporting of the images are also done very easily for post-processing into the
orthophotos and 3D models as well.
In addition to this, the MAVinci Desktop Software is associated with enabling of quick as
well as easy planning of the flights offline or in the fields. It is also very easy to select the area
along with setting the ground sample distance. The software is associated with automatic
production of an optimised flight plan along with being associated with calculating the changes
in the elevation, duration of the flight and the legal air space.
The software is also associated with enabling of the automatic following of the terrain,
along with the real-time flight data and telemetry visualisation along with ensuring a 100%
coverage of the survey areas. The drone is also seen to be compatible with the different kind of
payloads which are capable of capturing a precise data for having a wide range of commercial
applications (Vásárhelyi et al., 2018). By having easy as well as quick flight planning along with
the hand launched and automatic spot landing the drone is associated with making the process of
surveying very easy as well as safe and simple. This, in turn, is associated with delivering of
high-quality data which are collected, processed and converted in an easy way.
Intel is associated with providing of a network of global support consisting of well-trained global
support teams which are associated with providing of a quick technical support as well as pilot
training for the Intel Sirius Pro drone (intel.in, 2019). Despite of not being a drone expert or

The drone Intel Sirius Pro system is associated with eth capturing of almost more than
2000 high quality images in just a single flight. The standard camera which is used by the Intel
Sirius Pro includes the camera Sony A6300 which is generally used for standard surveying as
well as for city mapping (Grünblatt, Guérin-Lassous & Simonin, 2019). Besides this camera, the
drone Intel Sirius is also seen to be compatible with the camera Sony RX1R II as well as with the
multispectral MicaSense RedEdge.
In the coming days, the organisation Intel is also associated with making plans for using
the Movidious technology in the process of designing the drones. One of the key features of this
technology is that the users are capable of knowing about the location of the target along with
being associated with taking of snaps of the targets in a secret manner.
Evaluation of the Organisations cross-cultural Policies: World Wide sale of
Drones:
Several times it has been proved that drone is a great innovation which has always been
appreciated. In a similar way, in past few decades, the drone market is seen to be evolving in a
continuous manner, and the company has been seen to be associated with making more economy
by means of providing high quality products (Guillen-Perez et al., 2016). The sales conducted in
the past as well as in the future has been illustrated in the figure provided below:

17ENGINEERING ETHICS AND INNOVATIONS
However, there exist no such official reports published by Intel Company which is
associated with stating the sales of the drones. Despite of this there still exists some private
sources which are seen to have been associated with releasing the statistical business values of
the drones and according to the reports the company is seen to have earned an amount of around
$7 million by selling the drones (Wee, Lee, & Shim, 2018). In addition to all this, the sales are
seen to have been evolving at a rapid rate, and proponents are associated with expecting the fact
that in the future the number of drone release is going to increase in the future.
Cross-cultural policies:
The success of the company is seen to be lying in the cross-cultural policies related to
engagement. These particular policies are mainly associated with including the diversity, which
is seen to be existing between the gender and all the other employees.

Engineers functioning as innovators:
In addition to this, the innovative engineers are associated with working in a collaborative
way so as to help the organisation in becoming the tech giant in the engineering industry (Wang
et al., 2019). Followed by this the organisation Intel had been associated with the adaptation of
the “TIC-TOC” program in all the innovative ideas in all the innovative ideas which the
organisation is having. In accordance with this method, whenever a new product is launched,
then there would be a raise in the market value in case if the product is implicated with the
quality.
Recommendations:
The entire report is associated with putting forward of a clear example which in turn is
associated with answering the question “why is Intel named as the tech giant in the industry of
engineering”. In addition to this, the sources are also associated with presenting the fact that Intel
is entirely associated with concentrating upon the implementation of the new innovations along
with the development of their products in accordance to the evolution of the technology and the
needs of the users. The company has been associated with surveying the market and is very good
in its operations, which has helped the organisation in achieving a good position by means of
manufacturing the semiconductors in the year of 1980. However, the company itself has been
associated with developing themselves from the manufacturing of the semiconductors to the
manufacturing of the micro-processors for the purpose of designing the personal computers. The
manufacturing of the UAVs or drones by Intel is seen to be associated with continuous
development and the organisation is also seen to be updating themselves in a continuous manner
in terms of the technologies and the collaborations by means of many efficient companies for the

purpose of delivering products of high quality for the users and for making their innovations
useful in many ways.
Challenges faced, and lesson learnt:
The first thing which is learnt from the Intel company primarily includes the fact that the
engineers should necessarily have a clear idea of the various kind of problems which are faced
along with being sure of the fact that that the engineer should necessarily understand the
problems. And should think of clearing that particular problem by means of using innovations.
Besides this, it is also important that the organisation should keep on updating themselves in
terms of their products in accordance to the new technical implementations for the purpose of
gaining the trust of the customers as well as for raising the trust. Besides this the way in which
the company is associated with taking decisions whenever the market levels are going low at the
early 2000s is seen to be very inspirational. The company was seen to be coming back by means
of implementing the new microprocessors in an innovative way.
Interview Questions:
1. How the company has been associated with managing itself so as to survive along with
managing itself so as to remain in the top position since last 5 decades with this extremely
competitive environment?
2. What was the reason lying behind the decision of initiating the process of designing the
UAVs?
3. What is the organisations perception related to “UAVs in future”?
Document Page
20ENGINEERING ETHICS AND INNOVATIONS
4. Weather it necessary for the Innovative engineer to take care of the public safety as well as
comfort? If yes, why?
5. In case if we decide to start a new tech company in future, then how can we keep a balance
between the innovation and environmental safety in a simultaneous manner?
6. What are the goals that the organisation is having for future related to innovation and public
safety?
Conclusion:
We have been associated with sending an email to the organisation consisting of all the
questions mentioned above in a collaborative way. However it is very unfortunate that the
organisation has not relied yet and for that reason we have been associated with collecting
information from the internet as well as from some other journal articles for the purpose of
having a clear and brief content regarding the organisation Intel. The UAVs launched by the
organisation is also seen to be associated with facing certain drawbacks such as they are not
protected for any kind of hurdles and besides this they are also associated with facing problems
due to battery issues. For example when the quad copter is flying and in case if the battery is
entirely drained then eventually the drone would be falling down. In addition to this the quad
copters are also seen to be not resistant against water. For this reason it very necessary to address
the above stated problems and should be corrected necessarily in the future. This can be done by
implementing the various kind of innovative technologies. Very recently the organisation
Amazon has also been associated with making plans for starting the drone delivery system and
for that reason they have also signed a contract with the organisation Intel.
