Essay
AI Summary
The assignment discusses how communication between people and machines evolved from the 20th to the 21st century. In the 20th century, interactions were mostly conscious and direct, relying heavily on observing facial expressions and emotions among people. With the advent of the 21st century, there was a shift towards human-computer interaction, where computers began responding to both commands and analyzing human facial expressions. The essay details how EEG measurements initially used in the 20th century involved time-consuming procedures with electrodes. By contrast, the 21st century introduced more efficient methods like the 14 channel EEG acquisition system, which did not require electrodes and was cost-efficient. Furthermore, advancements allowed computers to move virtual objects using mental commands, facilitated by specialized software for better signal detection and technology development.

2ENGLISH COMPOSITION
In the 20th century, people’s communication with machines is limited in conscious and
direct forms. Communication between people during the 20th century is complex because people
observed facial expressions, emotions and feelings. However, on the 21st century, people tried to
focus on the human computer interaction. The computers are trying to respond not only to the
commands and instructions which are set by human beings but also analyze the facial expression
of human beings. In the 20th century, human beings had to perform all the functions as directed
by the brain. As the surface area of the brain is highly folded and to increase the area of mental
capacity, there are various challenges which has to be overcome. Human beings tried to map the
signals closer to the source in the 20th century so that they can present it in a quick span of time
across the mass population (ted.com 2017). EEG measurements were used in the 20th century for
actual device of the brain waves. The technicians put the electrodes using conductive gels and it
is time consuming. Moreover, this process is also time consuming. However, on the 21st century,
this was done through a 14 channel EEG acquisition system. It does not require any electrodes
and is less time consuming and cost efficient. Moreover, during the 21st century, for the detection
of algorithms certain technologies has been developed which were out of the box. The computers
also have the ability to move virtual objects with the mind. There are various leveling software
which are installed into the system so that it becomes easier for any human being to handle the
situation. It will also help to detect more and more signals and thus this will help in the further
development of the technology (Huang and Tognoli 2014,).
