'Coronavirus', also known as 'COVID 19' is a new infectious disease that is caused by

symptoms of this disease are breathing difficulties, fever, cough, loss of taste and smell. It was
first identified in Wuhan city of China in December 2019 which was the source of outbreak of
coronavirus in the world. The preventive measure that should be used to avoid spread of disease
are social distancing, regular hand wash and wearing a mask (Alstadsæter and et. al., 2020). On
11 March 2020, WHO declared the outbreak of this disease as 'pandemic'. This virus is more
risky for the people who are old in age or who are also suffering from some other disease, such
as, diabetes or heart problems.
According to the view point of Magrini. E, 2020 it has been determined that coronavirus
have major impact on jobs at global level as several people lost their jobs as well as others who
have are not getting full salary. In this pandemic situation whole nation was lock down which
means that no one can go on jobs and for any other activities (Holman and et. al., 2020). In
addition to this, job categories of people are classified within major three categories such as self
employment, ability to work from home as well as rise of remote working. Although, in North

and Midlands self employees people are at major insecurity, lower paid roles which are at high
risk from economic shocks. There are some other people also who are suffering such as Statutory
Sick pay as well as people who are working on Zero-hour contracts are getting low pays. Thus, it
can be said that people are facing numerous issues mainly with lower-income countries (Cortez
and Johnston, 2020). Respective situation not only impacting mid aged people but entire
population which means all age people are suffering. Each and every individual have concerned
related to the changes that individuals want to adapt in their life because these are long term
changes. Youths not even started their career are tensed for their future, mid-age working people
are worried about sources of income as well as old-age are tensed for their savings. So, each and
every individual is facing issues within pandemic situation and no one have control over it as
well as each an every sector of all the nation are getting affected in distinct manner.
Population of nation have to face distinct issues which started from shopping of food
items and daily consumable products as well as people are losing jobs. Although, restrictions
within daily basis lives of population results in closure of numerous nations. Approx. 81% of
employees at global level out of 3.3 billion have their offices or companies fully or partially
closed. These business firms are laying off employees that can be either permanently or
temporarily (Fernandes, 2020). By International Labour Organisation which is agency of United
Nation says that coronavirus is most severe crises after World War Two. As per them outbreak
has been expected to wipe out approx. 6.7% of working hours at worldwide level during 2020
second quarter that is totally equal to the 195 million works who are working full time lose their
jobs. Along with this, it has been predicted that about 1.6 billion informal workforce are
suffering massive damage on their livelihoods (How will Coronavirus affect jobs in different part
of country?, 2020). In addition to this, unemployment official data of United kingdom has more
time lag in comparison of other countries. Although, through main statistics it has been
determined that there is high record of unemployment which is approx. 4%. moreover, by
KPMG it has been predicted that rate of unemployment will rise by 9% within lock down period
(Hupkau and Petrongolo, 2020). When lock down has been announced and nation's lock down
begun more than 2 million people have been applied for main advantages or benefits line
universal credit. Along with this, more that quarter of United Kingdom population who are
employed has applied for government job retention scheme. In simple terms it can be said that,
distinct sectors of overall economy in nation are hit in distinct manner through sudden downturn

in working situation due to coronavirus. People at global level has putted their lives on hold as
per the lock down guidelines which result in major negative impact on food and accommodation
service industry (Morgan and et. al., 2020). Because don't have source of income as they are
investing their money in purchasing daily consumable items as they are necessary. There are
several other sectors also who are getting suffered such as wholesale, manufacturing, retail, real
estate and several other also as well as all these industries are employed 38% of global
workforce.
After advisory of Prime Minister to remain inside their homes or lock down almost all the
organisations decided to providing work from home to their staff members. In Greater South
east, jobs that can completed in easy manner from home are the one related with consultation and
many other (Folinas and Metax, 2020). Although, it has been determined that some of the jobs
and specific department in company shifted properly on work from home mode. In London, one
out of two might be shifted on work from mode completely but, within Burnley Barnsley as well
as Stoke less than 20% of staff members are shifted on work from home in Northern cities are
affected majorly through complete lock down.
In United Kingdom lock down was declared on march 23, 2020 and major motive behind
this is to control COVID-19 pandemic. By this it has been seems to have assistance rein within
public-health crisis but this is taking its impact on overall economy. In May 2020 which is
typical lock down week it has been estimated that economic of respective country get down by
approx. 30% from February 2020. As per Office of National Statistics in the weeks from April 6
to 19 2020, about 23% of business get closed temporarily with approx. 60% of business who are
trading continuously result in falling down their revenues (COVID-19 in the United Kingdom
assessing jobs at risk and the impact on people and place, 2020). Although, such rapid fall in
outcomes have major impact for employment such as it has been founded that around 7.6 million
jobs are at risk which mean permanently lay-offs, temporary furloughs as well as reduction in
payment and hours of working. Along with this, risk related to same is highly skewed as people
as well as places who are with low incomes are most vulnerable to losing their jobs.
Approximately 50% of all jobs are at risk in occupation who are earning less that £10 per hour.
Government of every nation has been using measures for protecting jobs within furlough
scheme as they are paying wages for employees in the situation when employers are not able to
pay. Although, it has been prevented that most of the people are becoming unemployed. But this

scheme of government is being wound down and employers has being asked for paying bigger
proportion of the cost of their workforce as well as this scheme get close in the end of October.
In addition to this, it is main reason that why employment is rising at global level as well as most
of the business has decided that they cannot afford start paying their employees again and need
to let them all go. According to the latest figure record rising within number of redundancies to
2,27,000 is founded (Unemployment rate: How many people are out of work?, 2020). It is
highest level since 2009 as last time there was a major economic downturn. Apart from this, June
onwards legal bodies of every nation has decided to allowed large part of economy to reopen
which results in improvement within several areas (Mahase, 2020). As in August working hours
of people has been increased because of economic reopen as well as people return back to their
works. Furthermore, average amount of people has falling sharply at the time of crisis but it get
stabilised again within May and July. As per the latest figure i has been determined that number
of job vacancies also increasing but these vacancies are still 40% less in comparison of last year.
Although, in autumn new restrictions was announced by government that across the nation
second virus waves gas takes hold. For example, in areas like Central Scotland Pubs will remain
completely shutdown as well as ordered to get close at 10pm in other places.
CONCLUSION
After going through overall discussion it has been concluded that, Coronavirus have
major impact at global level in negative manner because after announcing lock down several
people loose their jobs as well as others who are working not getting any full payments. In
addition to this, major behind this is that export and import activities get reduce and companies
revenue at decreases. Although, people are purchasing only daily consumable items which result
in loss for company and employees working in those business firm are fired by company. Thus,
it can be said that COVID-19 situation results in major negative impact on each and every
individual at worldwide level.
