1.0 Introduction
A lesson plan is created for the purpose of meeting course objectives. The following scope
involves creation of a 60 minutes reading lesson plan for a monolingual class of students of 18
upper-intermediate (b2) students, 10 women, 8 men. The students are young adults in age group
18-24 years of age. A communicative speaking activity is included as part of the procedure along
with materials and aids (Diaz-Rico 2007).
2.0 Teacher Language
Teacher will make presentations for checking vocabulary of students and include a planned
comprehension task (Hill 2013).

3.0 Lesson Plan
English TEFL lesson plans will include worksheets, handouts, activities along with other ideas
through which classes can be properly conducted (Goldenberg 2008). This current lesson plan
includes activities as reading comprehension, writing small sentences and listening. All these
activities congruently will be able to deliver goals for the students, which is to achieve high
proficiency in English language skills.
1. Lesson plan would include several classes which will be initiated through describing some
basic greetings in English followed by gradually including various sentences.

2. Learners will be provided with vocabulary sheets where multiple words will be introduced.
These sheets will be introduced one per week. Each sheet will include a host of words with
meanings and synonyms.
3. Regularly there will be hearing and listening sessions from various recording that can depict
English pronunciation. Students will be encouraged to speak hearing the recordings or repeat
after them to improve their skills and knowledge.
4. Writing will be given every day to show real life instances such that one can express
themselves better in the language. Writing skills will be checked every day so that mistakes can
be minimized.
5. Students will be made to watch programs and television in English and then asked to decipher
meanings from them. They will be encouraged to watch programs in English back at home also.
6. Students will be given flashcards of various topics and images then they will be asked to write
their names in English. As for example, a flashcard containing images of animals will be given
then names of the animals will have to be written.
7. Regular tests of small performance oriented outcomes will be measured. Such outcomes will
be estimated against set standards to understand student’s understanding levels.
4.0 Materials and Aids
Materials for the purpose of lesson plan includes ;
Copies of the lesson on ways to improve English TEFL, one for each student
Index cards that includes conversation ideas related to several topics as ‘Favorite party’
and ‘Best movies watched’, so on
Technological equipment that includes television connected with computer projectors for
playing movies or programs.

5.0 Vocabulary Teaching Table
The below mentioned is a vocabulary teaching table includes ways in which various ideas will be
extended across to students such that they are able to understand various concepts related to the
language (Harmer 2008). English language skills requires development of various facets of
pronunciation, writing, speaking and so on. There will be stages of vocabulary teaching as;
1. Firstly class students will be led into the topic
2. Vocabulary pre-teaching will be initiated
3. Second reading of the topic
4. Follow-on activity as speaking will be conducted
