What is enterprise resource
planning (ERP) system?
 Enterprise systems refers to softwares that focus on important
areas of business operations.
 The business areas include such as accounting, finance, sales and
marketing and procurement.

Introduction
 The business has put agreements in place with restaurants that
produce the meals and drinks ordered by the customers.
 The customers place orders to the delivery company and wait for
meals at the designated place.

ERP Architecture
 The architecture will involve a two-tier that handles both
application and database activities (Anon., 2018).
 The customers place order details such as the price, amount and
quantity.

ERP Architecture
 The ERP system passes information to both the producer and the
delivery company (Juneja, 2018).
 The system also sends information to the delivery personnel who
collects the order from the hotel and takes to the customers’
place.

ERP Modules
 The system entails an inventory module that manages the
amount and quality (Nimbalkar, 2013).
 The module updates the producers and the customers about the
products available for delivery.

ERP Module
 The system also entails a sales module that manages the
customer relations.
 The sales module prepares invoices, tax reports and the available
discounts (Anon., 2018).

The Benefits of ERP
 The system will improve the reporting to the producers and
customers (Devraj, 2017).
 The system will also increase productivity by enhancing the
communications between the customers and producers.

The Limitations of ERP
 The system will require training and recruitment of new
employees.
 The system will also involve high expenses due to the
procurement costs (Prajapati, 2018).

The Current ERP Trends
 The future improvements will include the introduction of
blockchain.
 The blockchain technology will reduce the supplying costs and
improve the tracking of products (Harpham, 2018).

The current ERP trends
 The delivery company wishes to introduce blockchain technology
to the supply of meals and drinks to the customers.
 The company anticipates the reduction of supply costs by 20%
(Harpham, 2018).

Discussion
 The ERP system does not replace the human labour. Therefore, the
employees should not fear the changes.
 The system will increase efficiency in the operations.

Conclusion
 The delivery company has experienced an increase in customers
and revenues due to the extensive marketing activities.
 The introduction of the ERP system will increase the productivity
and profits in the future.
