For effective management, the implementation of information systems is included for managing the data and information. Information systems are important for communication within the organization which helps the management in using the information and sharing the details. In the organization, information systems are implemented in all the business functions like marketing and sales, production, HR, finance and research and development. The information system includes the components which are networks, hardware, software, human resources, and database.The information system helps in combining the technologies, procedures, and people for collecting and distributing the information for making the decisions and coordinating and controlling the company(Tripathi, 2013). The objective of this report is to analyze the ERP systemwhichhelpsinprovidingthebenefitstothebusinesses.Thedifferenttypesof information systems help in supporting operations, knowledge works and management. The information system includes the three layers which are operational support, knowledge work support, and management support. Information systems are helping in storing the data for future use and making effective decisions. Types of information systems The information system helps in supporting the operations, sharing knowledge and managing the organization.Itincludestheexecutiveinformationsystem(EIS),managementinformation system(MIS), transaction processing system(TPS), and decision support system(DSS).
It includes the three organizational level which is strategic, tactical and operational levels. The strategic level includes the executive information system, tactical level includes the decision support system and the management information system and operational level includes the transaction processing system(Chaffey and White, 2010). The transaction processing system is also known as the data processing system as it helps the business in dealing with the day-to-day transactions which include the system for keeping the accuracy in accounting, preparing invoices, controlling stock and Data entry. TPS are considered tools that are used by the organization at the operational level for producing a large amount of information to contribute to running the business(Taniguchi and Onosato, 2017). It is used for keeping the record that is required for conducting the business. It helps the business in sales order entry, payrolls, etc. It supports the business in producing the reports. Management information system MIS includes the system which helps in converting the data and information of internal and externalsourcesintoeffectiveinformation.MISisdevelopedforsupportingplanning, controlling and decision-making functions. Management Information System (MIS) provides a summary of management routines for the basic operations of the organization. Basic services are organized by the organization's TPS records, MIS integration sales, production, and other data. MIS provides general information to managers and decision-makers. The main purpose of implementing MIS in an organization is for improving the efficiency of operations. MIS can support marketing, production, finance, etc. Management information system helps in providing the information for pre-specified reports as well as displaying the support of decision making. It is a type of information that helps in taking the internal data for summarizing useful information for making the effective use of the activities and supporting management(Leandro, et al., 2017). Executive information system(EIS) The implementation information system (EIS) is also known as the implementation support system. The organization's senior manager uses EIS. Therefore, it must be easy for using so that executives can use it without any help. EIS can analyze trends, report anomalies, and have traceability.
