Introduction
This report presents a critique of an academic paper that is based on enterprise
systems. This study will discuss and analyze the various aspects of enterprise system
presented in this paper in order to understand the trend related to it. The present paper
concerns the development of a smart and time-efficient system for enterprises. This report
will analyse the different contexts of the sustainable enterprise, as stated in the selected paper.
Research context and methods would be evaluated in this study. The analysis would lead to
the findings of the paper and lastly the conclusion. This report also states the relevance of this
article and research with present-day enterprise study. The report would be a review of the
selected article Challenges and current developments for sensing, smart and sustainable
enterprise systems written by Weichhart et al.
Discussion
Intention and content of the article
Changes in ICT or Information and Communication Technologies is influencing
every sector of business and enterprise. This is important that entrepreneurs start thinking of
the models to cope with the challenges that an enterprise would face because of these
changes. The selected research paper talks about developing an effective model to implement
in the enterprise so that the changes could be managed in future. The author has explored the
challenges from various aspects like Information, Enterprise, engineering, Computation and
technology.
The enterprise system has already inserted some changes to manage the challenges.
There are some of the challenges that are recently identified, and the solution has not yet
materialized [2]. The research intends to suggest some required models that could help in
managing the recent challenges. The important part of this paper is that it suggests the S^3
model, i.e. “Smart, sensible and sustainable” enterprise system.
Research method
The research is done using the qualitative method and data is collected from
secondary sources. The study uses data from the database of the International Federation for
Automatic Control- Technical Committee or IFAC-TC. The researchers have discussed the
present trends in ICT and how they are influencing the enterprise operations. This
information is taken from secondary resources. The analysis is theoretical and observational.
