1. Introduction
Enterprise systems can be referred to as the large scale software applications, which
have the core capability of tracking or controlling each and every complex operation of any
business (Sykes, Venkatesh and Johnson 2014). Such distinctive systems are being utilized as
the centralized commanding hub that could helpful for automaton of the business and even
making entire process of the decision making or reporting much more easier. There are some
of the most distinctive methods by which, an enterprise system could easily affect the
business and for provide high security. Business functions are well integrated by this process
and it is considered as the backbone of the modernized companies. For the core purpose of
operating efficiently, the organizations are seeking few significant methods for improving the
business processes (Bala and Venkatesh 2013). The following report outlines a brief
discussion on three strategies for suing an enterprise system that could help an organization to
achieve competitive advantages. Moreover, two different examples of industry for each of
these three strategies would also be demonstrated in this report.
2. Discussion
2.1 Management of the Organizational Goals as a Business Transformation Initiative
An enterprise system is termed as one of the most effective and efficient technological
solutions, which could manage the organizational goals as a business transformation
initiative. The main reason for such distinctive feature is that this particular technology, three
types of capabilities could be easily provided to the company. The first and the foremost
capability is organizational capability, which is being addressed properly for gaining
technological benefits (Rice 2013). The second type of capability is the system capability that
is being addressed by the systems engineering management activities. This type of capability
helps in successful execution of the specific course of action that is required for bringing
subsequent success in the business.
The organizational gaps are well avoided by this and the organizational management
is able to reduce the complexities under every circumstance. The final type of capability is
the operational capability. The respective organization comprises of a current and a planned
or baseline operational capability that is being checked on the basis of the previous activities
as well as plans for change (Ann Sykes 2015). The major as well as the most significant
purpose of this type of enterprise capability management functionality is ensuring the total
possibility for vectoring the enterprise away from current base line trajectory to the most
