1DEVELOPING ENTREPRENEURIAL ATTRIBUTES
The three main events aimed at developing new innovations and startups include Start-Up
weekends, Hackathons, and Innovation events. Start-up weekend is supposed to be a 54 hours’
weekend event, where startup enthusiasts, managers of different established organizations
encourage new ideas for new companies, construct new teams around those ideas and work
together to create a presentation and demonstrate it to the enthusiasts. Techstars, is for-profit
accelerator and investment fund, which has got hold of Up Global, the non-profit organization
that hosts startup weekends ("Techstars acquires nonprofit parent of Startup Weekend", 2018).
They held the very first start up weekend in Boulder, Colorado, with managing partner Cohen’
speech. According to Techstar, 550 companies have attended the event, and the organizing body
now functions in 13 cities till now.A hackathon is a kind of event where computer programmers,
graphic designers, project managers, widely cooperate with each other on software projects.
AngelHack organized their 9th Global Hackathon program, in summer 2016, reaching 61 cities
of the world ("These 13 New Startups Were Born At Hackathons – Hacker Noon", 2018).
Innovation events are organized to inspire with brainstorm techniques, develop new marketing
concepts, sharing and discussing new projects, new business concerns, analogy thinking to
motivate emerging companies work well ("How to organise an Innovation day: Detailed agenda
with downloads", 2018). Innovation Summit Asia 2018: Building the intelligent company had
assembled innovators, policymakers, scientists and entrepreneurs for an open discussion for the
future development of the AI start-ups (Artificial Intelligence) ("Innovation Summit Asia 2018 |

There are a number of entrepreneurial attributes of participating in such startup events,
hackathons events and innovation events which the emerging entrepreneurs should never miss.
Attending the startup weekends, conferences, with established and talented business persons can
encourage the new entrepreneurs to know their success stories and learn from their mistakes
(Lafuente, Stoian & Rialp, 2015). These events help to make acquaintance with the growing
competitions, who the competitors are, the application of new technologies and devices to
compete in the business world. Communication is of great importance for attaining such gains.
The entrepreneurs could learn about their drawbacks and their spheres of weaknesses where they
need to focus to succeed in a business industry (Brownson, 2014). The first issue for an
upcoming entrepreneur should be concerned about is the business speech A great pitcher can also
prove to be a great partnership holder. Few of the lessons that can be learned from such events
are valuing Time, enthusiasm and curiosity, development of self-awareness, faith, empowering
comfortable environment within the organization, being confident and performing up to the
mark. An entrepreneur is expected to value Time because Time is the most important resource
and one should distinguish between what in life is of more importance and which work worth
his/her Time. The mind should always seek for new ideas and encouragement as it would double
up the opportunities (Dai et al., 2014). An entrepreneur is supposed to be calm and precise by
nature because in future he/she has to experience massive work pressure and loosing temper at
that crucial moment could puzzle the person and disrupt the modest atmosphere. Above
everything one has to have the confidence and faith in the self to execute the plans. As far as
team formation and development is concerned, one can learn from the business events,
conferences by great business leaders, and the innovation events, about how a team should be
constructed and which kind of partners should be chosen for the team (Kuratko & Morris, 2018).
