INTRODUCTION
Entrepreneurial leadership can be referred to as the framework or the mind-set which
converts the problems of the organisation into the various opportunities through which an
organisation can get more success in the market (Boyatzis, McKee, (2005)). Effective leadership
is very important for business organisations and institutions as they integrate the efforts of all the
employees towards the goal of the business. This plays an important role in creating more values
for organisation. For this report, Waltham International College has been under taken into
account. It is an educational institution that provides higher education to the students. This
college was founded in 2010. College provides various types of programs to their students like
apprenticeship and training, etc. In this report, there will be the discussion on the roles of
entrepreneurial leadership in regards to the people, teams and ethical organisations. This report
will contain various theories that helps to understand the concept of leadership. At last of the
report, there will be practical applicability of the theory in relation to the institution to find out
opportunities and challenges.

The role of entrepreneurial leadership in sustainable development
The importance of leadership
Leaders plays an important role in the development of the organisation. Effective
leadership provides guidance to the employees in which they have to carry out the work in order
to achieve the goal of the organisation (Whitmore, (2010)). There are several functions that
leaders perform in an organisation that are as follows:
Leadership gives the right direction and pathway to the company that what an
organisation have to achieve. They define clear roles and responsibilities to each and
every individual in the organisation with their duties.
Leaders helps to build an effective communication in the organisation through which the
employees can easily co-ordinate with the each other.
Making a decision in the organisation is one of the tough task and leader plays a major
role in the decision making process (Boyatzis, Smith, Van Oosten, (2019)). Leaders
makes the right decision for the company according to the resources available with the

company. Effective leaders have the ability to take the tough decisions under the difficult
situations.
They provide continuous guidance to the employees while they are carrying out the work.
Leaders regularly monitors the activities of the employees in which help the organisation
to achieve their goals and targets on time.
They also play an important role in motivating the employees towards the goal of the
organisation. They boost the morale of the each and every individual in the company that
helps the leaders to build the trust in the employees (Sinek, (2011)). Motivated
employees help the organisation to lead the operations of the business effectively towards
the goal.
Role of entrepreneurial leadership in the development of people
Leaders play an important role in the development of the people in various ways. Some
of the points that leaders play in the development of the leaders is as follows:
The leader of company plays a major role in managing the work of team and having
effective communication. (Browne, (2020)). By developing communication skills in the
employees helps to reduce the chance of the conflicts in between them. Waltham
International College is one of the reputed college in the UK. They hire the professional
leaders who can motivate the staff members as well as the students of the college. They
build an effective communication between the students and staff through which students
can easily communicate with the teachers regarding their problems in the studies.
Honesty is also one of the major element that helps the leader to build trust among team
members. As they remain very honest towards their employees and staffs. This helps
them to build the trust in the eyes of the employees which result in boosting the
motivation of the employees towards the work of the organisation. This build the quality
of trust and motivation in the individual. Leaders of Waltham International College
clearly defines the roles and responsibilities to their staffs that what they have to do in the
campus. Leaders remains in touch with the staffs all the time with full honesty increases
the morale and motivation of them. This ultimately helps to developed motivated staff in
college.
