Company and Entrepreneur overview
Samsung is a multi national South Korean Company which was founded in the
year 1938. It was originally meant to be a trading company. Right now Samsung is presently
known for holding companies and subsidiaries united under the brand name of Samsung.
Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-chul where he had only forty employees and its major
business was production and distribution of groceries within the city of Su-dong near Daegu. An
entrepreneur is a person who has a vision which could change million of lives and help the
country to grow economically at the same time. After the failure of his first business Chul had
establishedhis export business in Daegu on 1st Mach, 1938 and named it as the Samsung Trading
Company (Omer, 2019). The company was known for exporting various type of goods like the
vegetables, fish, and fruits to many parts of China. There the company saw a major boom in its
supplying goods throughout Korea and ven to other countries. During that time Samsung was
considered as the one of the bet ten largets trading companies( Jang, Woo Bock, & Kim, 2015).
Chul’s vision brings creative ideas which creates employment opportunities and
helps the society to prosper and grow. Lee Byung-chul from South Korea has changed the entire
electronics and the smartphones market when his company called Samsung came into market
along with their world changing technologies. The founder Lee Brung-chul ‘s company Samsung
has been under many crests and troughs all these years and in the present day it stands as a
symbol which represents growth, innovation and prosperity.
Chul had a strong belief in industrialization and he wanted his company
Samsung to become a leader in each and every sector of the society. It was in the year 1960
when Samsung had made its entry into the electronics industry to take over the market just like it

had its grab in the other sectors. Samsung had focused in creating innovative products in the
market and soon it had released its black and white television in the market. By the end of the
1990 Samsung already had six divisions which primarily focused in the development of
telephones, fax machines, computers, televisions, refrigerator and semiconductors. I have been
using Samsung smartphones for the last five years. Presently I am using the Galaxy A9, which is
one of the best budget smartphones produced by the company (Leachman, Kang & Lin, 2016).
Success in the Electronic Business
In the year 1991, Samsung had acquired Hanguk Jeonja Tongsin which was a major
company in the telecommunication business. This was the year when the company was known to
be an owner of its own telecommunication division under Samsung Electronics. The founder of
the company had died in the year 1987 in Seoul, South Korea. But the co founders of the comapn
had kept following his philosophy in its large scale of expansion. The company expanded as
never before and set their plants in New York, Texas, London and in other parts of the world.
Samsung’s construction company also gathered major projects including that of the Burj Khalifa
in Malaysia (Lee & Lee, 2017).
Developing Business Prospects
Lee Byung-chul was an entrepreneur who had a vision of capturing the telecom market
by implementing the innovative ideas of his company. He had identified the markets in order
to begin the decision process. Samsung was known as a goods exporting company which used to
export vegetables, fruits and fishes to a major part of China from South Korea (Damayanti,
2018). Without considering the popular markets in China he would have not been able to bring
the growth in his company. Throughout his course of life he has gained competencies in many
