2.1 Introduction:
This section is regarded as most important factor in carrying out the research work. In
this part of the undertaking, perceptions of different scholars on the same or similar research
topic are analysed (Khan, 2011). The findings of this evaluation helps in conducting the further
tasks of the project. Also, the contradicting views of different authors are analysed to reach the
effective outcomes. Literature review is considered as a major source of gathering secondary
information that will be used in assessing the outcomes of the research aims. For the present
research, perceptions of different researchers on the gentrification, effect of development on
small businesses, and impact of relationship between entrepreneurs and gentrification will be
assessed.
2.2 Status of small business before and after Gentrification:
As per the views of Winter, 2012, before the Gentrification the status of small-
businesses was not good. There was limitation on the commencement of market expansion
strategies, because of the low availability of the capital and revenue. There were many issues in
the effective networking of the business before the gentrification. These weaknesses has highly
affected the overall business effectiveness. Also, the value has been started falling down.
However, it should be recognise that the local administrations and existing government had took
initiations to support the small business companies. They offered these organisations with the
funds so that they can afford new equipments as per the technological advancements. In addition
to this, these funds will help the entities in developing their businesses in an effective direction.
On the other hand, Webber, (2015) stated that the introduction of the Gentrification has
brought numerous opportunities with it. This addition is highly beneficial for the small
businesses. Firstly, this has increased the chances of market expansion. This advantage will thus
assist in raising the business value of the companies that exists on a smaller scale. In addition to
this, the operations of these entities are also improved with the gentrification. This, in turn,
enhance the sales and profitability of the firms. Also, it is beneficial in achieving the economical
growth. The increased revenue can be later used by the firms for the enhancement of their
businesses.

cooperated among people of different religions. This further helps in the development of an
effective working environment. Hence, it can be said that a huge list of gains can be recorded
after the introduction of gentrification.
In contrary to this Masrani, (2016), stated that this addition has raised the resentment that
is a loss for small business. Further, it will cause conflicts in the regions if in case the local
residents will not in favour of the gentrification or changes in the structure. This will further
harm the economy of the business and thus, the profitability will be suffered. Also, there are
issues for those businesses who are running in rental structures. The local people will further be
suffered with these developments as this gentrification will harm their daily life operations.
2.4 Relationship business between entrepreneurship and Gentrification
Monitor, (2016) stated that the gentrification is highly related with the entrepreneurs.
There are various business activities which does rely on the development. Hence, both positive
and negative type of relationship between the entrepreneurs and gentrification can impact the
business. For instance, if there will be positive relations between them then firms can easily
expand their overall business operations. This will then help in achieving the desired sales and
profitability ratios. Also, the long-term benefit involves the attainment of strong brand image at
the market places. In addition to this, these positive relationships between entrepreneurs and
gentrification improves the work processes. This, in turn, will enhance the performance of the
company.
Panton, (2017) explained that the positive relationships between entrepreneurs and
gentrification is highly beneficial for the small businesses. This link between them has opened

operations with effective ones. This modification can thus assist organisations in achieving
economical growth. There are various methods that can be used for taking effectiveness in the
business operations. Also, Samuel, (2016.) explained that gentrification is one of the most

making changes in the business operations. Employment is one of those advantages gained by
implementation of effective techniques. With the help of gentrification, the business will be
expanded. Henceforth, more number of employees will be engaged to carry out the operations
effectively. This is also beneficial in the organisational context and increased number of
employees will accomplish more work. This, in turn, will raise the profitability of the company.

3.2 Data Collection Method
In order to have effective collection of information in regard to impact of gentrification on
local business, experts will focus on different kinds of practices. Primary and secondary data
collection are two methods which are mainly employed by scholar in order to have proper
collection of data. Primary data collection are considered as first time data collection. In this,
experts will frame questionnaire on the basis of objectives (Saunders and et. al., 2010). It will
assist in effective development of practice and ensure about relationship business between
entrepreneurship and gentrification. In this, it will be ensured that questionnaire are designed in

an access to books, journals and online sources. It will allow to ensure that information is being
collected in such manner that impact of gentrification on local business has been evaluated
properly (Silverman, 2010). In addition to this, relevant articles will; be studied to gather the
appropriate data.
3.3 Sampling Method
In order to provide better support to the primary data collection the experts will focus on
the random sampling approach. In this, researcher will focus on application of probabilistic
aspects so that appropriate chance must be provided to all respondents. The probabilistic
sampling indicates that equal changes are given to every observations and the non-probabilistic
sampling consist of purposive and convenience sampling. In addition to this, it can be said that
researcher will focus on 50 respondents for effective gathering of information (Singh, 2010).
3.4 Ethical issues
In addition to this, it can be said that actual information about research study and its
purpose will be shared with all members so that ethical aspects can be well maintained. Also,
personal information about the participants will not be shared with any other third party which
will provide better opportunities to the study in terms of ethics. The ethical issues are most vital
elements in order to carry out research operations in effective ways thus attaining success for
firms. It is the responsibilities of researcher to care for persons who are included in the research
activities and the information which are vital should be kept confidently. Along with this, proper
guidelines of research studies will be followed in order to ensure that key outcome can be
attained. Resource allocation will also referred in critical manner so that it can be make sure that
volunteers are not involved in any kind of unethical practice (Singh, 2010).

3.5 Data Analysis Plan
There are two methods in which the collected data can be analysed, namely formative and
summative. For the present research work, summative approach will be used. This is due to the
fact that the assessment will be carried after the completion of the questionnaire. Further, in
order to have effective data interpretation the qualitative approach of data analysis will be
employed by the experts. It has been noticed that by having an effective presentation of data in
form graphs the collected data has been presented. Also, different themes will be framed in order
to present the information and ensure that data interpretation standards are properly maintained.
