One of the vital aspects for the manufacturers of vehicle is economies of scale and the
underpinnings can be used across multiple of cars that are manufactured by Tesla. This will
enable company in saving the costs that are incurred for building platforms possessing unique
parts. Economies of scale employment by Tesla for manufacturing of Model 3 would make it
affordable for people by finishing of Gigafactory. This factory development will enable Tesla to
build 500000 cars by year 2020. This will help company in saving costs and introducing car at
affordable price that will help in increasing sales and revenue growth of company.
The model S units of Tesla caught fire that led to arising of controversies and has the
consequence of lowering earnings and thing the stock price hardly. Public relations issues
concerning the car on fire of model S launched by Tesla should be addressed by the
communication standpoint and concisely and clearly explaining customers about the problems.
This particular type of crisis management can be well managed by disclosing the actual reason
and truth behind the occurrence of such incidents that will help in regaining trust and customer
confidence.
Answer to question 2:
Future of Tesla is very optimistic in regard of sales of Model S unit and the reason is
attributable to the fact that the exact cause of catching fire was still not known. The reason for
catching fire was either due to torn of battery pack and short-circuiting of lithium battery cells.
As depicted in the case study, advocates of this particular model have a view that there was no
death and serious injuries associated with this model. Therefore, it can be said that such public
