The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the world
It can be seen from the outer space
The reef supports wide variety of life
It was selected as a World Heritage Site in the year 1981 (Authority, 2014)

Human Use and Management
The Great Barrier Reef are used by the Aboriginal
Australian as well as Torres Strait Islander people for a
long time
The people known as Aboriginal Australians are living in
the area from the last 40,000 years at least (Authority, 20

The people from Torres Strait Islanders are living in the
same place from the last 10,000 years (Authority, 2016)
