Introduction
Rainforests around the world are declining. Rainforests prevent the climate and local weather of
the environment. Actually, the concern is not about rainforests, but by destroying the rain forests,
we are risking our own life and undermine the valuable things provided by the biological
diversity. The deforestation leads to serious consequences which result in the changes in the
different cycle soft ecology which will ultimately harm the environment.
Deforestation Disrupts The Carbon Cycle
As we know that forests play an important role in the carbon cycle as the plants take carbon
through the process of photosynthesis. This carbon is kept in trees and other vegetation and when
an old tree dies and start decaying then, in that case, the carbon from the tree is releasing slowly
in the atmosphere. (Bala,2007) More of the carbon dioxide emission is there by reducing the
number of trees which will ultimately disrupt the carbon cycle and maintain imbalance in the
cycle due to deforestation and the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effects lead to global
warming which means more carbon emission, and when plants are not there to store this carbon,
the carbon cycle will be imbalanced.
Deforestation Disrupts The Hydro (Water) Cycle
The rain forests store the vast amount of water and when those trees cut down the water stored it
in is also lost. As plants and trees store the excess water of rain and this water will be extracted
from the soil in the form of groundwater which will be ultimately return to the atmosphere but
due to deforestation the trees will be cut down, and the excess water will be not released in the
atmosphere which will ultimately affect the water cycle.( D'Almeida,2007) This leads to the
conversion of rainforests into desertification and the dry climatic conditions which leads to
global warming and high temperature, low rainfall which will contribute towards the severe
pollution conditions.
Deforestation Is Related To Declining Species Diversity
Due to deforestation not only climatic changes will be affected but it will also pose a big threat to
the plants and animals living in those forests. In deforestation, the trees are cut down massively
which will leads to the home hiddenness of various species of these forests. In this way, shelter
and food will become the problem of the animals living in forests which leads animals to move
towards the towns in search of food. (Cramer, 2004)According to the Earth Observatory website
of NASA,” losses in species in rain forests will affect both humans and animals “ due to
deforestation the animals have to move to the different environment which will lead to the
difficulty in survival or the form of extinction. The protection of animals and plants is important
for the beauty of the earth and the biodiversity.

The conclusion that will be obtained from this research essay is that there are several
environmental impacts of deforestation which will lead to the problems regarding carbon, water,
and the declining species. If we do not control these adverse effects of deforestation, then it will
lead to serious consequences which will result in increasing global warming and ultimately leads
to the destruction of human, wild and plant life due to the various changes in the environment
cycle.
