1Environmental Issue
Journal Entry
Florida is a land of unique birds and plants that are especially born here and are not found
anywhere in the whole world except Florida. There are multiple plants and animals that are under
constant threat because their lives are at stake because of the overwhelming effect of global
warming that is generated by the irresponsible behavior of human beings towards the
environment. Animals like Okaloosa Darter, Swallow-tailed Kite, Florida Panther, Key Largo
Woodrat, the Florida Scrub Jay and rare plants like Scrub Lupine and many more are in danger
and need to be saved if any action is not taken immediately.
Since Okaloosa is a stream bird there has been a constant effort from the
environmentalists to stop the erosion that could have promoted the breeding of the birds, which
helped the birds to recover from endangered to come to the status of threatened species. There is
no trace of federal protection for the swallow tailed kites because it has also become one of the
rarest species that needs careful attention for which the lands must be saved to accommodate
more space for them. In order to save the plants in Florida the environmentalists and the
gardeners take initiatives to condition the weather in a proper way so that the plants can grow
and nurture in the desirable condition.
