The social sustainability is considered to understand the way to approach and relate the
environmental sustainability. The approach is based on handling the current needs of the
members with sustainability development and working towards the healthy community
development. The capitalism includes the profit factors with the community that works over the
profit and the social sustainability. With the affluent society, there is a need to focus on the
equity, diversity and the outcome of the members with the diversified changes in the community.
The interconnected social cohesions are set to promote the connectedness at the formal and the
informal level (Etzioni, 2017). The democracy and the governance is to provide the democratic
processes with individual acceptance of the responsibility with consistent growth and the social
attributes. The capitalism is where the profit is the major objective with leading to the
community development. Here, socialism is also to meet the needs and the demands based on the
profit and the social sustainability development. The social sustainability is based on identifying
and manage the business impacts with the positivity and negativity on the people. The quality is
based on the relationship and engagement which is critical.
Descriptive Reflective
The descriptive reflections are based on how the value chain development, customers and local
communities can manage the impacts. The operations depend on the social development which
includes the poverty, inequality and weak rule of law (Black et al., 2017). The primary duty is to
contribute to the ways to improve the lives of the people and work over the goods and services
that can meet the basic requirements with the value chain development. One needs to make the
strategic social investments with pooling the strengths that has a greater positive impact. The

environmental sustainability works on the social development with the greater importance based
on the risks that is effective to work with the community and beyond. The standards are set for
the development to assess the potential harms, needs and the desires. It also involves the
prominent areas like the human rights, fair labour practices, health and the safety measures. The
social sustainability involves the engagement and the volunteerism that reflects the product
responsibility with product performance, safety and the standards. The equity, work-life balance
and the empowerment involves the community and the development which includes the decent
quality of life.
Diagnostic Reflection
The social sustainability includes the values of the relationship with the core business strategy
development where the operations are based on the environmental, economic and the social
impacts. One need to balance and create the values for the best possible and sustainable outcome
which needs to understand about the business strategy, management, and the operations. The
improvement of the quality of life for the people like the employees, clients and the consumers
(von Weizsäcker, 2016). The improvement of the operations and the reputational performance
helps in understanding the people and the social impacts. This will help in engaging the
workforce and create the attractive workplace for an individual. The standards are also set to
reduce the negative human outcomes like the poverty, inequality and the segregation with the
safety. The shift is in the mindset among the management and the employees with crafting the
projects to assess the perspectives and the needs. The development is based on breeding the
loyalty with excellence.

Critical Reflection
The focus is mainly on the consumption and not only work which is considered important for the
social identity. The idea of consumption is essential mainly to form and set the identity matrix
for producing the external objects. The affluent society is the society with good citizen who try
to attempt on showing about their self-realization which is important for the late modern
individual. The focus is on the vast quantity of the purchasable objects with the modern world
that tends to overwhelm the consumer (Carden, 2016). The task of integration is harder where
the consumer tends to fail in achieving the integration of the objects which are subjected to his or
her life plan. The affluent society has been a reality with the important cultural shifts and holding
the scarcity to abundance. There are consumption processes where the workers do not dream of
overthrowing rather setting down for controlling and handling the different means of production.
The focus is on the delayed gratification with the sense of highlighting about the different
delayed gratification which is important for the communist regimes.
The affluent society is also a consumer society which includes the wide-ranging functions for a
better relation at work. The social status not only depend on the ability to produce but also to
consume it.
