TASK 1 1.1: Children's rights are the social, economical, and cultural rights which includes the right to education, right to health, right to living a decent life, right to live with parents, right to play, and right to be protected from harm and abuse. Children's rights are associated with the freedom of discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, skin colour, community, gender, ethnicity, etc. (Marmot, 2020). 1.2: The UN convention on the rights of the child, concentrates on four aspects of children's rights: protect the children from the decisions that negatively affects them, protect the children from against exploitation, discrimination, protect children from any sort of harm and abuse, provisions to fulfil the children's basic needs(Tobin, 2019). 2.1: Diversity refers to the understanding each individual is unique in its own way. It is important for everyone to recognise individual differences and accept them equally in a society. In a society, people live together belongs to the different caste, religion, culture, socio-economic status. They may have different race, ethnicity, political beliefs, religious beliefs, ideologies. 2.2: Stereotyping thoughts and discrimination practices may impacts the life of the children drastically. These practices can steal the fair chances from a child to participate in activities he/ she interested in. The discriminative behaviour experienced by children impacts their thought process and make them feel isolated and unaccepted by the society. Such behaviour promotes the inequality and injustice in society. 2.3: Code of practices and legislations refers to the guidelines and laws respectively. These acts promotes the strict prohibition of harassment, discrimination, and victimization in the work location. These laws are need to be followed by all employees and all employers of the organisation. Under these proposed laws one needs to embrace diversity at work place which helps in creating an inclusive environment to encourage fair and good business ethics. 2.4: Not following the code of conduct simply signifies the breaching of legal instructions, laws and regulations. If any individual found to break the laws intentionally or unintentionally made by the court for social regulations, it may leads to bear disciplinary action against the individual. It may include, the person may get fired, seizing of the license or may be dismissed by professional association. 2.5: Harmful and illegal cultural practices includes discrimination, inequality, female genital mutilation, child marriage, harassment, child abuse and harm. 1
FGM: Female genital mutilation is the cultural practice in which external female genitals has been removed partially of completely for non-medical purposes(Glover and et. al., 2018). Breast ironing: This is a harmful cultural practice being followed to flattened the developing breast of females in their adolescent stage. The practice is being followed to save the girls from sexual harassment and rape. Forced marriage:It is a bad practice in which one or two members are forced to get married without their consent or forced to stay in marital relationship against their will. Honour-based killing:It is a crime committed to protect the honour/pride of the family or the community. Honour-based violence includes sexual harassment, domestic violence, threats to kill, forced marriage, social rejection etc. 4.1: To challenge the above mentioned illegal cultural practices, some discussions have being made: FGM: The FGM practice can be challenged by encourage the older generations to stop practising the tradition and make them understand that the practice have no any medical advantage on females rather it causes high pain and major sufferings to women. It can be controlled by educating girls about their rights to decision regarding to their body, by making people understand that no religion demands for such cruel practices. Breast ironing: This cruel practise has been challenged by developing the strict policies against violent and discriminative practices. The government and non-governmental bodies joined the hands and stood together against breast ironing and made some policies like Convention against Torture and Other Cruel Treatment(Amahazion, 2021). Some legislations are enforced to intensify efforts on health education. Forced marriage:This wrong and inappropriate practise can be challenged by enforcing strict laws against the child marriage and marriage against consent. By make people understand that forced marriage not only may results in marriage failure but it also give rise to range of criminal offenses. Honour-based killing:This wrong practice has been banned by enforcing some strict laws against the cruel act, by fighting against racist stereotypes and by avoiding abused cultural practices, my make people understand the demerits of the practice and impacts of such wrong practices of individual's life(Gill, 2019). 2

3.1: It is important to promote awareness about diversity, equality and inclusion among the society by considering some points like, raising voice against inequality, racism, and sexist actions. By learning about the problems and concerns of other people, by learning about different cultures, practices and accept and respect them. By being open-minded and try to understand other's views and by showing welcoming gesture about their opinions and ideologies. 3.2: In order to bring lasting changes in the society some important roles are need to consider: listen and educate the people against the discriminative practices and try to make them understand the negative impact of such practices in a community. Social media platforms are also a useful element in recent times to report racist or discriminatory content online. 3.3: Mainly two key ways to promote, inclusion, equality, and diversity among others are: By teaching people the significance of treating every individual with respect and dignity and by helping others through the process to overcoming the hurdles they have been faced with. 3.4: In order to support the community understanding about different cultures and beliefs, one needs to promote interaction within the different community and engage them towards a specific task, so they will work together. For example, in work place a team may be formed by including members from different community and assign them a task to perform collaboratively. 3.5: Available source of information, support and advice about equality, diversity and inclusion are: Trade unions, Line manager or other manager, Law centres, and Advocacy and campaigning organisations.
