Part 2 The Research Project
Title:
The impact of Equality and Diversity on employee’s performance in the organisation of
Tesco.
Introduction
The assessment of the project conveys incredible comprehension corresponding to the zone
of equity and diversity and its effect over the performance of workers. In this manner, it is a wide
territory of examination which started point by point investigation to recognize detailed
examination and improve individual’s professional and personal capacity (Ang and Van Dyne,
2015). Equality and diversity are two significant term of the executives which are requires to be
overseen by the organizations for the viable execution of business activities. Along these lines,
equality and diversity the board is a significant worry of a business and impact the whole
execution of business through influencing the usefulness of representatives at working
environment. In this current investigation the research is based over Tesco, accordingly this is
the picked association for this task (Chen, Liu and Portnoy, 2012). Tesco is an enormous British
worldwide staple goods and general product retailer which has high brand sway inside the
worldwide market as the organization is having activities at wide scale. The headquarter of the
firm is in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, England, United Kingdom. The organization was
set up in the time of 1919 by the likely endeavours of Jack Cohen. The organization is having
around 4,50,000 representatives in which male and female are included and who are contributing
their possibilities in the movement of the business.
Research Aim
In this research the main aim is to study the behaviour of equality and diversity on
employees in Tesco.
Research Objectives
To study the different diversity factors.
To examine the benefits of equality and diversity in Tesco
To investigate the importance of diversity and equality in Tesco To recommend ways that Tesco can introduce equality and diversity to employees in a
great way so that all employees respect each other’s differences.

What strategies could be used in order deliver equality and diversity in a great way?
Research Methodology
Research methodology is integral aspect of the systematic completion of the study. This
is beneficial and systematic method that is pursued in time through researchers for the collection
of qualitative and quantitative information. This portion of this research is intended primarily to
give researcher with accurate information on the subject. For reliable information on the latest
case is to be obtained. Researchers can achieve research goals and objectives with aid of research
methodology. The research methodology often defines, chooses, integrates, examines and
evaluates data related to study or topic (Fletcher, 2017). The analysis methods are particular tools
or techniques. Under this, the various layers involved in the research onion given below:
Research philosophies- It applies to belief that helps researchers collect and interpret
data on the given area of study. There are many fields of ontology, axiology and epistemology of
research methodology. The essence of truth is clarified by ontology. Epistemology allows
researchers to find knowledge on the topic. Axiology assists scientists in studying how the
selection and assessment of work affects beliefs and interest. The theory of epistemology is
important in the current study as it allows researchers to obtain objective results. In this
approach, researchers use the philosophy of positivism, which encourages researchers through
providing accurate and credible evidence over a minimum period of time. The framework of this
kind of philosophy in the studies and discussions is well known. At the other hand, the
philosophy of interpretivism in research philosophy according to this study is not useful and
acceptable because it requires maximum time and does not yield reliable results (Humphries,
2017).
Research Approaches- It presents an integral mechanism in which relevant theme data
are analyzed or evaluated. The analysis is focused on the concept of internal documents studies,
using a single category of information, for example qualitative or quantitative information. The

inductive method to learning is more useful to interpret qualitative knowledge. At the other hand,
a deductive approach to analysis is helpful for evaluating quantitative knowledge. Investigators
should follow an investigation-related deductive approach. This method helps researchers deal
with inductive and inductive vulnerabilities. It makes researchers easier to examine the deductive
method and the main reason to use this approach is that it helps in analyze the valid information
and getting positive outcomes (Kumar, 2019).
Research Choice- It is fourth layer of the Framework for research onion and consist
three research choices such as mono-method, mixed-method and multi-method. These are
important study choices. Just one type of data known as qualitative or quantitative should be
collected by a mono method. These are effective choices, but mono-choices are useful to carry
out the present investigation. This choice will support researchers in their quantitative or
qualitative collection and analysis of one particular type of data.
Research strategy- It is a data collection method focused on effective testing strategies.
Numerous research techniques exist, including action research, trial, systematic literature review,
surveys, interviews, and more. All of these are important, but two types of research strategy are
chosen by the investigator to conduct this study on the existing subject. Such strategies include a
survey and a literature review. For collection of primary information over a short period of time,
a survey strategy was adopted. Systematic literature review is a method that the investigator uses
to obtain relevant knowledge from secondary sources, i.e. articles, internet sources, journals and
others This work was performed using the quantitative method as it supports researchers
collecting knowledge in numbers and quantitatively. There are numerous reasons to use a
quantitative approach such as researchers can pick large samples, concentrate on series or data,
take longer etc. On other hand, qualitative methods are not useful for conducting this study
because they are not fairly relevant data collection methods (Mohajan, 2018).
Time horizon- It is an essential aspect of research process as it makes it easier for
researchers to complete through dissertation task. Two important time horizon approaches such
as cross section and longitudinal are available. Both are important time horizon approaches, yet a
cross-sectional time approach is helpful to conduct the present study, as this is based on the
actual situation and facilitates timely and systematic research in each section of research. The
time management tool named Gantt chart is also part of this portion of technique. This tool

consist the start and end of each activity which assists researchers to complete their thesis within
a certain amount of time.
Data collection- The collection of data is the collection process by source, technique or
system of primordial and secondary knowledge. In context to collect primary information,
researcher has selected a questionnaire to promote it with accurate or first-hand knowledge in a
shorter period. There are numerous secondary sources named books, articles, research
publications, journals and others for the collection of secondary information. These are effective
ways for collecting primary and secondary data (Taherdoost, 2016). Thus, researchers can
effectively achieve goals and dissertation aims with the use of secondary and primary sources of
data and techniques.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Primary method
Advantages Disadvantages
This method provides the relevant as well as
original data related to research study.
It is costly and takes more time in collection of
information.
Data accuracy is high. It does not provide the feasible results.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Secondary method
Advantages Disadvantages
Sources are already available in collection of
information.
The collected information is not accurate from
secondary method.
