INTRODUCTION Equality and diversity is one of the important topic in today’s time. There is key role of treating all the employees effectively in an organisation (Stenhouse, 2021). There is diversity of employees that are working together and there is need of treating all of them equally. This helps to promote the behaviour of equality among them and motivate them to work. Each and every company must follow ethics so that they are able to operate smoothly. In this essay there is evaluation related to equality and diversity as one of the ethical issue. Different examples are used to understand the concept. MAIN BODY Ethics plays a major role in every society as these include moral principles for conducting an activity. It is necessary to understand “what is right” or “what is wrong”. This helps an individual to take necessary actions that are right for them. There are certain moral principles that must be followed by the business organisation so that they get better results. The ethical theories help to understand the concept better (Patel and Feng, 2021).Deontology theoryof ethics states that people should follow the ethics and duties at the time of decision making. It helps them to take right and wise decisions and manage the work effectively. There is need of following the principles of quality in order to work effectively in the society. There are various problems that the business can face if they will not follow the ethical responsibility. For example, Unilever follows all the laws and legislations that assist them to keep the employees satisfied. The another major benefit is that the government does not interfere in the operations of the businesses that follow the responsibility in effective manner (Highton, 2021). The behaviour of the individuals is dependent on the ethics being followed so that right actions must be taken. There is need of being obliged to the conditions of the society and the one required by the organisation. The individual must take the decisions on their own logical basis so that they are able to operate in best suitable manner. Utilitarianismis another theory of ethics. It is seen that the one must have ability to predict the consequences of an event. The theory also states that the people who take ethically right decisions are able to get good consequences. At the same time, the other people must be ready to bear the negative outcomes. If a company would not follow ethics, then they must be aware about the consequences (Khan and et al., 2019). No matter how big or small a business
organisation is, they must follow the moral values so that they are able to get good brand image. In relation to Tesco, they respect the diversity of employees and provide all of them equal opportunity. There are employee engagement activities that are carried in the organisation so that all the people are able to develop relations with each other. There is need of giving trainings and engaging the employees in the activity so that they are able to interact with each other. There is need of managing the employees in effective manner so that better results are attained. To illustrate Sainsbury’s work to provide inclusive approach so that they are able to keep all the employees satisfied. They have their own values that assist the employees to manage their working. They take care about the health and wellbeing of the students and this makes them efficient in their working (Georgiadou, Gonzalez-Perez and Olivas-Luján, 2019). This is the reason they know that the government will not impose any penalty over the company and they will be able to operate in best suitable manner. The use of right strategy is right manner is beneficial for the success of the business. All the business must have ability to follow the laws and legislations related to equality and diversity. The changing nature of business environment gives rise to the changes in the culture of business operations. It becomes necessary to work on them and follow the best path to achieve success. They treat all the employees in equal manner and provide them all the opportunities that are available within organisation. Equality can be understood as providing an equal opportunity to the employee without discriminating them. While diversity can be recognising and respecting their differences within the organisation (Dahanayake et al., 2018). These terms equality and diversity holds the discipline in them regarding treating each other, someone who is from different religion, respecting them, protect their beliefs. Equality is important as it ensures that in organisation every employee should get equal opportunity for the betterment of their work profile and organisation's also. Equality refers to the state of being equal not discriminated by any policies and rules in organisation. Major issue regarding equality is female employees as they are less appreciated and the gender equality is fundamental right of every employee. Whether she or he it does not matter they should be treated well within the organisation and paid accordingly to their work profile (Hauret and Williams, 2020). Diversity is also important in any business as it leads towards the better work culture and environment. Each and every company must provide equality to the employees so that they are able to carry on their work. This helps to carry on the work is best effective manner andattainthetargets.Theemployeesaremotivatedwhentheyareprovidedproper communication. The best strategy is to provide the employees regular opportunity and maintain effective relations with them. By interacting with them and sharing opportunity the goals and objectives can be attained in proper manner (Mousa, 2021). There is requirement of taking right actions and motivating the employees so that better results can be attained. There is key role of valuing the people of different culture. The higher authority must not discriminate among the employees and must provide them equal value. The same will be followed by the employees and they will also have motivated to attain the specific task. It becomes important for a company to always treat all the employees equally. There are various issues that will be eliminated if the employees will be treated in equal manner. Globalisation has given rise to the situation of diversity. The culture has now been changes and it is important to keep all the employees at same level so that activities are attained on right time and successfully. There is key role of maintaining equality and diversity.
CONCLUSION From the above essay, it is concluded that equality and diversity are ethically important concepts that must be followed by every individual. The theory of ethics is being understood that right decisions are taken by the business. There are different examples given to understand the topic effectively. There is evaluation related to the problems a business can face if they do not follow the ethics. The company must maintain positive culture in the organisation by using the principles of equality and diversity. The strategies to overcome the situation are also mentioned in the essay.
