Importance of Equality and Diversity in the Workplace_2

INTRODUCTION
Equality and diversity is one of the important topic in today’s time. There is key role of
treating all the employees effectively in an organisation (Stenhouse, 2021). There is diversity of
employees that are working together and there is need of treating all of them equally. This helps
to promote the behaviour of equality among them and motivate them to work. Each and every
company must follow ethics so that they are able to operate smoothly. In this essay there is
evaluation related to equality and diversity as one of the ethical issue. Different examples are
used to understand the concept.
MAIN BODY
Ethics plays a major role in every society as these include moral principles for conducting an
activity. It is necessary to understand “what is right” or “what is wrong”. This helps an individual
to take necessary actions that are right for them. There are certain moral principles that must be
followed by the business organisation so that they get better results. The ethical theories help to
understand the concept better (Patel and Feng, 2021). Deontology theory of ethics states that
people should follow the ethics and duties at the time of decision making. It helps them to take
right and wise decisions and manage the work effectively. There is need of following the
principles of quality in order to work effectively in the society. There are various problems that
the business can face if they will not follow the ethical responsibility. For example, Unilever
follows all the laws and legislations that assist them to keep the employees satisfied. The another
major benefit is that the government does not interfere in the operations of the businesses that
follow the responsibility in effective manner (Highton, 2021). The behaviour of the individuals is
dependent on the ethics being followed so that right actions must be taken. There is need of
being obliged to the conditions of the society and the one required by the organisation. The
individual must take the decisions on their own logical basis so that they are able to operate in
best suitable manner.
Utilitarianism is another theory of ethics. It is seen that the one must have ability to predict
the consequences of an event. The theory also states that the people who take ethically right
decisions are able to get good consequences. At the same time, the other people must be ready to
bear the negative outcomes. If a company would not follow ethics, then they must be aware
about the consequences (Khan and et al., 2019). No matter how big or small a business
