MAIN BODY
Briefly introducing case study and life stage.
Gloria case study highlight the recalling activity of girl, who recalls her conflicting
memories related to her early years for purpose of stimulating a reconstruction of her view of
themselves in the society as middle age group children. At the age of 5, she decides to not grow
up, which Gloria remember. She always prefers to spent her time in particular private place
where this girl felt safe to read and make a clear imagination about herself in the society. There

Memory recalling is considered as typical thing according to the chosen theory, while
unnecessary, recognition and reconstruction of own view of themselves in the community is
atypical points.
Erickson's theory of psychological development defines each stage and these are; trust
versus mistrust, Autonomy vs shame and doubt, initiative vs guild, industry vs inferiority,
identify vs identity confusion, etc (Erik Erikson's Stages of Psychosocial Development, 2018).
All these stages refers to overall procedure of a person or child psychological development,
which drive their attention toward considering earlier and current environment and then moving
ahead toward developing themselves.
According to concept, psychological development is considered as fancy stage that
defines how a child individual need mesh with requirement of society.
Discussing how theory can be applied to the case study.
Erik Erickson's theory of psychological development is applied to case of Gloria, because
she is growing herself psychologically in term of recalling memories and reconstructing her
views in society as middle age child. Stage 4 may define the actual situation of Gloria in chosen
theory in term of defining phase of middle childhood where she attempts to learn and understand
reading and writing things, to do sum-up about herself, which actually she to do so
(Samsanovich, 2021). It is one of those phases where children may gain excellent significance
and become a major line of self-esteem. It may drive the attention of a child toward feeling the
need to win approval in form of demonstrating particular competencies and effectiveness that are
valued by the others such as society to develop a sense of price in aim accomplishment. These
things exactly happen with Gloria, as she prefers to stay at specific place where she can feel
comfortable to read and write her own views about herself in the society as a small kid. She like
cocoon in which Gloria lives and has no need for any transition required to her promotion in
school.
Strengths-
The key strength of Erickson's theory is that is defines and encompasses 8 stages of
psychological development may help a person to understand what a child from childhood to
adulthood thing and have perspectives, which directly or indirectly putting impact on their

The main limitation or weakness of Erickson's concept is that the actual mechanisms for
resolving issues and moving from one phase to another are not well defined and developed, that
make complication to understand the development of a child psychology.
Reflecting on how I can apply the theory describe to my professional practice.
In my professional counselling practice, I can apply Erickson's theory of psychological
development and will change my approach in positive manner. I can apply the overall concept, in
term of developing understanding related to each stage of psychological growth, which make me
capable to heal any issue among children's belonging to varied age group from 0-1 to 18,, more
than that. It will change my practice in the context of professional counselling positively, by
driving my concentration toward developing and comprehending a child behaviour and the way
they grow mentally and physically.
CONCLUSION
On the basis of above discussion, it has been concluded that middle age children has
always recalls their memories that enables them to make clear view of themselves in the society.
They think about a situation multiple time and then take action, which is quite normal in
behaviour of middle age child. Furthermore, by summing up above discussion, it has been
summarized that by implementing Erik Erikson theory the understanding about middle age
children developed. The theory has specified the period when a child has conducted varied
activities and practices that enabled them to grow with a clear view of their role in the society as
a small child.
