INTRODUCTION
Fashion plays an important role in depicting an individual’s mind, culture and
background. It reflects a person’s lifestyle. Fashion industry has always been changing, making
new trends, evolving according to the demands of customers and has faced many challenges and
complexities because of this. Hennes and Mauritz commonly known as H&M, is a multination
fashion retail company (Arrigo, 2018). It provides fast fashion for all, men, women and kids. The
company offers wide range of fashion products for its customers. They provide best quality
product in best price range in a sustainable way. H&M is a man player in UK fashion industry,
its business model has made them adapt to changes and outperform its competitors. In UK,
fashion industry holds major part of country’s economic growth.
MAIN BODY
Fashion retail industry is one of the fastest growing industries. Various reasons leading to
its growth are use of technologies has helped the company so much by making the
manufacturing and production easy, people are more for high quality lifestyles which has
impacted the fashion industry positively, increased use of e-commerce sites have helps the
company in by increasing its sales and profits and have even made shopping easy for people
(Attaran and Attaran, 2019). The industry has to face many challenges as it is continuously
changing according to customer’s needs. H&M has to adapt to these alterations and change its
business model in order to keep running in for the top position.
PESTEL analysis
Political Factors: H&M is an international company and therefore company has to face
many political risks as it has to work in different jurisdiction. Company has to follow UK’s
legislation and customer protection policies in order to avoid any conflicts with national
government and work legit. Company has to face consequences with international politics
because of Brexit. The exchanges rates and trading prices have increased company’s expenses in
UK. The trade relations with Europe are on the urge of disappearing and because of this
industries have to pay more for the same type of material (Helmold, 2019). There are several
groups and associations like PETA; they are boycotting the organisations that are using or
