INTRODUCTION
Social work is considered to be as an academic discipline which is mainly associated with
the specific groups, communities, etc. in order to effectively enhance the overall wellbeing and
social functioning. This study will effectively focus on the new refugee community within the
specific local area. This study will eventually focus on taking a brief snapshot of the Syria
community. This study will critically evaluate the specialized needs of the sub groups with
effective intervention planning priorities. Moreover, this study will focus on community
development approach which results in high degree of increased raising awareness. This study
also tends to have appropriate settlement of outcomes with great degree of success.
MAIN BODY
Syrian Australians in turn is referred to as the Australians of Syrian descent. Australia in
turn tends to focus on opening doors for the Syrian refugees because it helps in effectively
prioritizing the prosecuted minorities (Karlsen, 2016). Syria is considered to be as the traditional
society where they place taste within the traditional art which can be effectively expressed with
the help of l-Samah, the Dabkeh in different variations and the sword dance. Syrian refugees
tends to use art in order to keep their culture alive.
Australia is considered to be as the beacon of hope for the individual’s across the globe
which helps in providing the best possible solution in dire circumstances. The Humanitarian
program is considered to be highly beneficial in providing permanent resettlement to those
people who in turn are in high degree of need of protection. This way it helps in creating a wide
set of opportunity to effectively build a better life. It is estimated that, 8, 80,000 refugees has
settled in Australia. Australia is considered to be as the one of the most generous countries in
order to resettle refugees. In the year 2016-17, with appropriate intake of refugees from Iraq and
Syria. Large degree of humanitarian visa has been granted to around 22,000 refugees. However,
in the year 2018-19, around 18,750 visa was granted to the humanitarian.
The Syrian community network was effectively established by the diverse group of the
community members with the key and prominent intention to assist and aid in appropriate
settlement of the Syria refugee (MacDonald, 2017). The Syrian community network also tends to
expand their services to various refugee groups. The Syrian community network provide high
degree of support to the immigrant and refugee which tends to focus on building community and
also serving the families by addressing the key issues associated with the community.
