INTRODUCTIONThere is a basic difference between horror and terror in psychological concept and that isbeing applied to the literature and film industry. On general note, terror is a feeling of dread andexpectation that that showcases the horrifying experience. However, on the other hand horror isregarded as the feeling which occurs when someone is scared or frightened. Thus, it can be saidthat it is an unpleasant feeling that could occur anytime1. There are a number of techniques anddevices that are being used to deal with Gothic literature such as weather, the sublime, dreamsand sense of mystery and dread. Thus, in such respect the present research study has beenfocusing on the concept of gothics and how it is used in horror movies and literature. Along withthis, discussion has also been included regarding gothic terror in terms of male role. THECONCEPTOF GOTHICSGothic is regarded as a friction which develops in the realm of horror and it is also usedin the films and movies. This needs to have a combination of horror, death and at times romance.However, the concept is being developed through focusing on the sort of terror that is essential inshowcasing diverse aspects of the movie. At the same time, gothic is used in many movies andshows to enhance the terror2. There are several novels which have been developed in this contextwherein the concept of gothics has been defined in appropriate manner. The concept is popular isEngland and Germany and is also utilized in several movies and pictures.
