Okay, so you know you need to write a narrative (that is, a first-person story) about a work-related experience that will convey a lesson to your readers. The experience could be recent or way in the past. This is a very broad topic, so it may help you to list five to ten possible topics first, and then narrow down to your top two or three choices. To get you started, here are topics some my previous students have written about: My first job The best/worst job I ever had Memories of my parent working when I was a child The process of learning how to do my job well An experience with a difficult boss/co-worker/customer A positive experience at work Developing a passion for a certain career field The moment I knew "what I wanted to be when I grew up" Keep in mind, you are probably going to write, re-write, re-write, and re-write this essay, so please pick a topic you feel excited to spend some time with.
