Research is a very wide area and a platform that would call for integration and involvement of so
many aspects as the research goes on, there are important elements that ought to be considered. It
is essential that certain guiding principles be incorporated to enhance effective conducting of the
research. Essentially, a research literally expresses ideas and opinions based on available
evidence. Regarding this, it is in the interest of the research institution and researchers to
effectively utilize the time and whatever they would really have as a common good practice.
Research ethics thus is based on three fundamental principles. One of them is respect for
persons. Individuals should be treated autonomous and individuals with diminished autonomy
should also be protected [1]. This is evident from the study research as the names of the
participants are not mentioned except that the total number of men and women is mentioned. The
researchers must have respected each participation such that they would only accept with any
one’s informed decision regarding to whether they should participate in research. It is also
evident from the research; the conclusions are very straight forward: individuals who stay alone
are likely to undergo psychological trauma. The individuals are not mentioned by their names.
Their autonomy is protected.
Another principle of ethic is beneficence. Here the principles states that the researchers should
not do any harm to the other and maximize benefits for participants as the risks for the
participants is minimized [1]. This principle has been effectively utilized in this study research as
it is evident, the respondents or participants were not subjected to any form of tests or diagnosis
that would torture them and cause them unrest and discomfort than they were in their initial stage
except for the antidepressants.
The third principle governing research is justice. It has more to do with fairness. In other words,
the researchers designing trials should consider what is it that would be fair in terms of
