It is often observed that the people have to take certain decisions that are not
ethically correct. The decisions can be false or wrong and self-defeating in nature (Zuboff,
2015). In this case, it has been observed that the owner of the orphanage is suffering from
financial insecurity and in the meantime, the owner of the car dealer has proposed a plan to
him regarding the making of false statement about the price of a van. It is no need to state that
it is an ethical dilemma faced by the owner of the orphanage. There are certain ideas that can
identify the issues regarding false statement. The idea can be specifically identified as self-
refuting idea. When a person making a decision regarding something he knows false can be
fall under the purview of this idea (Brandon, 2016).
However, from the ethical aspect, it is required that the owner of the orphanage
denies taking the money from the car dealer and does not make any false statement regarding
the price of the van. This idea is based on the right decision making idea. The principle of
ethics is based on the morality of a person and determines the right and wrong in human
conduct (Fichter, 2016).
It is expected that the people always choose the right one and deny the wrong
ideas. This is called the morality. However, in certain situations, people are forced to take
wrong decision. The principle of ethics helps to find out the question regarding the moral
duties and duties of the people in dilemmatic situations. Choice making is a constant thing
and people have to take the right decision at that point of time. Choices are the fundamental
thing that verify the nature of the person and signify the future character of that person. In
this case, it has been observed that the owner of the orphanage has been suffering from the
financial crisis and need financial support badly. At that point of time, the car dealer made an
offer to him to make a false statement regarding the price of a car and propose to invest
certain amount in the orphanage. It has been clear from the statements of the case that the
owner of the orphanage has been suffering from financial crisis and needed money for the
