The paper discusses the ethical issues regarding the use of personal information by IT giants and evaluates the situation through four aspects of ethical practices. The Utilitarianism perspective, Deontology perspective, Virtue perspective, and Contract perspective are applied to understand the problem from different perspectives. The conclusion drawn from the discussion indicates that the practice carried out by the IT organization regarding the use of the user’s personal data and information for other purposes is not ethical as it does not support any of the ethical theories.
