INTRODUCTION
Ethics are defined as those set of rules which are used by business in order to provide
safer working environment for employees so that they can work safely. These rules are included
in ethical code of conduct which could be helpful for any institution to deal with maintaining
high edge discipline which may lead them to attain higher efficacy within business along with
managing health and safety measures for employees. Ethics are associated with wider scope in
which working activities and implications related to organisation are taking place. Nature is a
natural aspect which is providing behavioural impact over the organisation in order to perform
working in easy manner (Nersessian, 2018). The implication of ethics are providing positive
impacts to the organisation in which various benefits are provided to the employees and other
parties associated with the organisation as well. This report is covering major aspects of ethics in
relation to CTV building.
A. Background of the event
CTV building is having their head office at streets of Cashel & Madras in New
Zealand. The building is one of the biggest symbol in terms of television. The following report is
based on an incident which took place in New Zealand that is related with construction practices.
This report is describing the event at which CTV building was collapsed on February 22nd at
Christchurch in the year of 2011. The report is associated with prominent discussion of that event
along with ethics aspect related to that event. Besides this the report is providing detailed
investigation which is being conducted in respect of slumping of building. This report is
providing ethical code of conduct within resource management in New Zealand along with
proper implementation of engineering (Brinsfield and Edwards, 2020).
The location in which building is situated is called CTV building which is the
headquarter of Canterbury television that is a famous independent television broadcasting
station. The building was manufactured in the year of 1986which was owned by Madras
Equities. The building was located at premium location of New Zealand which is located in
corner of Cashel and madras streets in Christchurch. The building is having 7 floors and the
building was constructed by Alun Wilke and position of consultant was led by Alan Reay. The
building had many offices apart from CTV as they had Kings education, The clinic,
Relationship services and nursing school as their tenant when building get collapsed.
