performance of the company by finding new investment opportunities. Then inform the CEO of
the company about any top two alternative investments. Then analyse the advantage and di-
advantage based on liquidity, risk, return and at last advice the CEO whether to invest in this or
not.

ETHICS AND ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENT
Introduction
Investment is a process of acquiring assets or property with the goal of generating future
income. It is a type of purchase which is not for today’s consumption as it is a type of monetary
asset investment which will provide future income by selling it in future at high price for profit.
Investment is a mechanism of future generating income which includes bonds, stock, property
and other. Anything that is done to gain future income is considered as investment. It is like
putting money in a business, project or assets with goal of earning capital with some risk
associated with it (Abdelsalam et al., 2017). It is a speculative type of activity which involves
holding assets for long term. Investment are mainly of two types one is fixed income investment
which includes bonds, fixed deposits and preference share and second one is variable income
investments which includes equities. In economics investment is defined as goods capable of
producing other goods or services or capital. Return on investment is the key measure of the
performance of the investment. Investment ensures long-term financial security for present and
future.
Types
There are lots of investment option in the market but choosing the right option is the vital part of
it. Somme of the common types of investment is as follows:
 Stock - It is one of the most simple and well known types of investment. It is like
investing in companies stock and getting the ownership which allows participating in
company’s growth. This is a type of long term investment (Awrey, Blair & Kershaw,
2013).
