Ethics in School
In a world that is morally corrupt, schools and education has become the only rescue
anchor to guide the young generation towards the rehabilitation of moral values. For a while
now, I have been a student at the university of (insert the name of your school). As a student, I
have experienced a series of ethical concerns from fellow students, teachers and members of the
faculty within the university. However, one situation stands out, and I believe that I was treated
unethically by my classmates within the class.
Description of the situation
During my first year as a student at the university, I was subjected to unethical conduct
by my fellow classmates. I come from a rural background, unlike most of my classmates. As a
result, I have various challenges in the articulation of language. I have a strong accent that
distinguishes me from most of my classmates. One time, during class, the professor asked a
question and asked me to answer it. In my attempt to answer the question, my native accent came
out and most of my classmates began to laugh uncontrollably.
Description of my reaction and that of others
My reaction. It is imperative to note that the event significantly affected my self-esteem.
As other students were laughing at me, I felt very embarrassed. Normally, I would not be
ashamed of my background and my articulation of language. However, at this point in time, I felt
my whole world crashing with humiliation, mortification and shame.
