Introduction
In the case where Amanda Todd had taken her life due to extensive bullying online
tarnishing her image and maligning her moral values is the question of various ethical issues
presented one after another (Mhiripiri & Chari, 2017). This is why in the following report it
would be justified if there are specific reasons for considering the case as a legally
prosecutable one, under the "conspiracy to commit harm, or defame".
Reasons to consider this case as a legally prosecutable one under “conspiracy to
commit harm, or defame”
As per personal discretion there are justified ways to consider this case of
cyberbullying as a legally prosecutable one under the "conspiracy to commit harm, or
defame". Although it can be said that the case is a very complex one containing multiple
layers, it should also be noted that the risks of moral panic in media reporting and vigilante
justice facilitated by internet connected digital media is also a matter to look about in this
case.
In the digital age that the millennials are living in right now, it is very easy to be
offended about an action and in the same way the number of people using the internet
maximizes the problem further (Campbell, Martin & Fabos, 2018). When the cyberbully
could not get Amanda follow their instructions after finding her compromising photos, they
threatened her of posting the same photos online. When Amanda still did not choose to listen
to the cyber bullies, they committed harm to the image of Amanda by posting those photos
online. Therefore, this in that can be regarded as the intention of causing harm to somebody
with the help of intense conspiracy. the continued behaving in the same attitude with Amanda
