INTRODUCTION
Eucharist is a ritual which is also known as the Holy communication or the Lord's supper
in Christianity. This ritual is the commemoration of Jesus with his disciples, according to the
tradition Lord Jesus provided them bread with his words CATH (2018). In this report the
importance of Eucharist as a ritual will be explained in Catholic schools. This project will
explain the ways in which this ritual uses the gathering of community for developing
togetherness and catholic presence in the children of the schools.
MAIN BODY
Eucharist in the catholic school
The catholic schools all around the world have been seen to find pride of place in their
learning communities which helps their students to acquire academic as well as personal
excellence. One of the reason for the universal distinctiveness of catholic education has been the
ritual of Eucharist. This ritual has been considered as the heartbeat to a sacramental church. It is
responsible for drawing out the community together and also sending it out. Catholic schools
around the world follow the pattern of Eucharist. In these schools the children gather every day
and share their stories of their lives. This pattern of gathering together sharing stores and meals
before returning to the end of the day makes huge difference embracing these movements. The
idea behind this ritual is connecting the agency of god to the stories of each child which provides
the feeling of togetherness of everyone in the community by promising of both intimacy and
bread. This is able to teach the children gratitude for being welcome and kindness which is
generated by love (Olson, 2015).
With the help of this teaching of Eucharist the catholic schools are able to develop
effective education which is about the significance of Eucharist and its worth celebration. It
helps the students in learning the effective and creative role of collaboration and participation of
the students, staff and the parents with the celebration of Eucharist ritual. The challenges which
is faced by the these institutions are the increasing number of non-Eucharistic and non church
adhering students. Some schools also has to struggle with the lack of linkage between the school
and the catholic community Maliszewska (2019). This is because in this ritual the presence of
every is important. By assuming that not everyone is same this ritual celebrates the value of
diversity. There are certain students and families which are more active and committed to the
