organization. In the strategic business environment, firm can attain success only when it takes
suitable decision within the appropriate time frame. Hence, by using both statistical and non-
statistical tools and techniques business unit can undertake strategic action that contributes in
its growth and success. Moreover, statistical tools help in evaluating the large data set in a

students regarding Business and computing. In this, report will shed light on the experience
and satisfaction level of students through the means of primary as well as secondary data.
Further, it will also develop understanding about the manner in which statistical tools help in
generating valuable information from data set. Report will also helps in identifying the
manner in which information processing and investment appraisal tools helps in decision
making.
TASK 1
a. Collection of primary and secondary data
On the basis of cited case situation, UK CBC wants to get information about the
experience and satisfaction level of students. The rationale behind this, college institution
cans suitable modifications in the existing framework only when they have idea about the
student’s point of view. With the motive to fulfill the research aim scholar has taken decision
to gather data from both primary and secondary source. Primary data may be defined as one
that is collected by the researcher for first time specifically to meet research aim (Bickel and
Lehmann, 2012). There are several methods that provide high level of assistance to the
researcher in collection of primary data such as survey, focus group, observation etc. Data
gathered through the means of primary data sources are highly reliable in nature and helps in
determining the suitable solution of issue. Further, secondary data is one that has gathered
and analyzed by other researchers. Hence, by making evaluation of books, journals and
scholarly articles scholar can gather secondary data (Chen, So and Kuruoglu, 2016). In order
to carry out research more effectually scholar has undertaken below mentioned plan for data
collection:

Primary data collection: Survey technique has been selected by the scholar to gather
primary data. The main reasons for the selection of survey technique are that it helps in
extracting suitable information from respondents. In survey, respondents are not obliged to
disclose their identity. Thus, by doing survey researcher can easily assess the extent to which
students are satisfied from UK CBC. To conduct survey, primarily researcher has selected 10
students by using purposive sampling technique. Once, sample size and respondents have
been determined thereafter scholar will frame questionnaire. Moreover, without having
questionnaire scholar would not able to get suitable information from respondents. By
considering this, researcher will include questions regarding teaching staff, course
advancement, classrooms and other facilities. In the next step, researcher will sent
questionnaire on the mail id of students and thereby become able to get suitable primary
information.
Secondary data collection: To collect secondary data researcher will approach
administrative department of UK CBC record to get information about the views of alumni’s.
Moreover, alumni’s have better idea regarding the quality of educational services maintained
by UK CBC. Along with this, to get deeper insight about student’s preferences while making
selection of college scholar will gather data via books, journals and articles associated with
such topic. For this purpose, researcher will do internet surfing because Google contains wide
range of information. In this way, by making evaluation of scholarly articles researcher will
develop brief thesis for the data analysis section.
b. Designing survey methodology and sampling frame
Survey methodology: When researchers take decision in relation to conducting survey
then they require selecting suitable method as well as tools for the same. Hence, by preparing
suitable methodology researcher can conduct survey in an appropriate manner. Saving cost
and meeting research aim within the suitable time frame is one of the main objectives of
researcher. Hence, by keeping such aspect in mind online survey methodology has been
selected by the researcher (Gigerenzer and Gaissmaier, 2011). In this regard, researcher will
primarily collect information regarding the main-id of students from administrative office or
department. Thus, by sending questionnaire on the personal mail-id of students researcher
will gather data regarding educational facilities provided by UK CBC. Hence, by undertaking
such methodology researcher can gather as well as evaluate data set within the time frame

Sampling frame: Sampling is highly concerned with the selection of subset of
individuals who possess the characteristics of whole population. Effectiveness of survey is

By applying statistical tool it has been analyzed that average achievement grade is 34.
On the other side, 50% value of data set accounts for 36 respectively. It presents that mean
and median grades achieved by students are highly near. Further, there is no mode in the data
set because no single value is repeated. Hence, higher authority of UK CBC should

staff of UK CBC. Students like to learn and study in the college where highly talented
teachers teach. Hence, 4 respondents entailed that teacher resolves their query in a
satisfactorily manner. Hence, in the college student’s grades are highly influences from the
note provided and learning style employed by the teacher. In addition to this, one of the
respondents said that teachers make high level of efforts to teach each and every concept in a
clear or precise way. Hence, by building and maintaining highly talented workforce
institution can gain competitive position over others.
c. Evaluating the measures of dispersion
Variance and standard deviation is the main elements of measure of dispersion.
Hence, by evaluating this analysts can identify the extent to which value of data set will
deviate in the near future (Hwang and Yoon, 2012). In the present case situation standard
deviation of satisfaction level is 7.91. Along with this, output of statistical analysis shows that
in the upcoming time achievement grades will deviate from the value such as 10

the significant level. From assessment it has been identified that out of 10 student’s
satisfaction level of 6 individuals lie within the range of 31 to 46. On the contrary to this,
satisfaction rating of remaining four students is in the range of 17 to 30. Hence, by
considering it can be stated that 60% students are satisfied from the facilities provided by UK
CBC. Along with this, achievement grades of the students are also in line with the
satisfaction level. Hence, college institution is required to make some change in the existing
framework according to the demand of students and thereby enhance their performance
level.
b. Creating trend line for analyzing pattern
Trend line is the significant measure of statistics which in turn helps in identifying the
movements of specific elements. By drawing trend line firm can identify the extent to which
specific element will move upward or downward. In the dynamic business arena, it is highly
difficult for the institution to draw suitable valid results regarding the future success. In this
regard, trend line helps institution in getting deeper insight about the pattern of upcoming
time period (Ouchterlony, 2016). This statistical measure or tool offers opportunity to the
institution or firm to frame competent strategies and policy framework for dealing with the

achievement grade will not incline with the very high pace. Moreover, there are several
college institutions in UK such as BRIT, Ann’s etc. which are offering highly advanced
educational courses to the students. In this, for maintaining and enhancing image institution is

 Introduction: This report will provide information to the management department of
UK CBC regarding the extent to which students are satisfied. Besides this, it will also
present the findings of primary and secondary data investigation in a highly structured

 Methodology: To gather information about students experience and satisfaction level
data has been collected by the researcher via primary and secondary sources. Hence,
by using online survey methodology primary data investigation has been conducted
by the researcher. Along with this, books, journals and scholarly articles are also
evaluated by the researcher for gaining deeper insight about the factors that have
impact on student’s choices. Further, simple random sampling technique has been
used by the researcher to determine suitable sample for investigation. Further,
statistical technique has been used by the researcher to evaluate and analyze data.
Further, thematic analysis technique has also been used by the scholar to present
outcome of survey.
 Findings: From primary data analysis, it has been found that students rated
educational facilities of UK CBC as better. Further, it has been identified that teachers
of UK CBC are highly supportive and offers better guidance to the students. This
aspect shows that overall environment of college institution is good. Overall
evaluation presents that UK CBC has developed high level of satisfaction among the
students by offering better education. Secondary data evaluation presents that
satisfaction level of students are highly influenced from the grades attained in
examination. The reason behind this career growth and employment opportunities of
individuals are highly based on the marks generated in examination.
 Conclusion and recommendations: On the summing of report, it has been presented
that both satisfaction and grades attained by students are highly associated with each
other. It shows that increase or decrease in one aspect has high level of impact on
another. Hence, it is recommended to UK CBC to place high level of emphasis on
revision practices and modules. By doing this, both students and teachers can assess
the area of studies which requires improvement. In this way, by taking timely action
UK CBC can enhance achievement grade and thereby satisfaction level of students.

 Operational: Decision support system is used by the personnel work at operational
level. Individuals work at operational level has to take several decisions which in turn
aid in the profitability of firm. Sometimes, operational level managers face difficulty

in making selection of suitable project out of several (Zsambok and Klein, 2014). In
this situation, DSS software provides manager with tailor made reports and thereby
supports effective decision making.
 Tactical: Middle level managers undertake transactional processing system for
decision making. This software contains information regarding all the transactions
which are made by college institution during the specified time frame (Tang and
Zhang, 2013). In this, such software produces tailor made report according the
transactions and thereby aid in the decision making aspect.
 Strategic: MIS is the most effectual software that is undertaken by the manager’s
work at strategic level. Such software produces suitable report for the managerial
decision making according to dataset generated. Management information system
automatically generates report which in turn helps strategic level managers in taking
decision about equipment, processes (Power, Sharda and Burstein, 2015). Hence, by
using such software higher level managers of UK CBC can take profitable business
decision.
b. Preparing a project plan and determination of critical path
In the present era, business institutions undertake project management software or
tool for the purpose of decision making. Hence, by using such software firm can draw
network diagram in an effectual way. Such diagram presents the manner in which set of
activities is highly interrelated with each other (Hwang and Masud, 2012). In other words,
network diagram show dependency level one activity on another. With the help of network
diagram college institution can take suitable decisions.
Further, by undertaking network diagram college institution can assess or determine
critical path in an effectual way. Critical path enables firm to select way which it should
follow for accomplishing the project within the less time frame (Hwang and Yoon, 2012).

the course curriculum and teaching staff of UK CBC. It can be seen in the report that data has
been gathered by the researcher from both primary and secondary methods. Besides this, it
can be inferred that with the aim to save time and money online survey has been conducted
by the scholar. It can be summarized from the report that experience level of the students is
highly positive pertaining to the educational services offered by UK CBC. Further, it has
been articulated that information processing tools provide high level of assistance to strategic,
tactical and operational level managers in decision making. It has been articulated that UK
CBC should invest money in the project which in turn helps in attaining success.
