1. What is the
purpose of the
research study?
(1 mark)
The study was aimed for identifying the models for funding and
describing the healthcare delivery systems, which are already existing
in the indigenous community. The study also makes an attempt to
identify and describe the infrastructure and the programs that are
specific to diabetes in those communities (Tompkins et al., 2018).

A) The study was a descriptive quantitative study.
The study made an attempt to recognise the healthcare delivery
systems, models of funding, infrastructure and programs at
place in order to help the indigenous population with diabetes
via survey. The survey was focused on finding the descriptive
data and it did not involve any comparative analysis. Hence the
study can be considered to have followed the descriptive design
(Gray, Grove & Sutherland, 2016).
B) The study contained a background section, where the problem

with diabetes in the indigenous population have been described
as an introduction to the topic. The method section in the article
describes the survey methods. The result section is also distinct
in this study and describes all the results found from the survey.
The discussion section is also present in the article.
C) The survey design can be considered appropriate for this study
considering the type of answers the study attempted to find.
The study made an attempt to find some individual
characteristics related to the diabetes problem in the indigenous
community. A descriptive research design can be considered
appropriate for that type of findings (Gray, Grove &
Sutherland, 2016).
D) The purpose of the study is not described under a distinct
heading in the article. However it is mentioned under the
background section. The literature review, framework of study,
research objectives, questions or hypothesis and the study
variables do not have their own distinct sections in the article.
The study design, population and sample and the methods of
measurement are present under the method section along with
