INTRODUCTION
Reflection refers to as type of writing wherein the writer in its own terms write what it
has learnt by doing anything. It is a form in which the writer try to share its feelings, thoughts
and experiences in its own terms only (Graham, Walton and Ward, 2019). The present report will
outline a reflective report on the role of leader and helper in helping others. Also, it will discuss a
career and a personal development plan for the person.
TASK 1
Task 1A
Reflective witting can be understood as a tool which is used by the writer in order to share its
experience with other in its own words. With help of reflection the person writing can describe
any real incident or any experience of itself which can help other in solving there problem by
reading the reflection. Using reflective writing there are many benefits as it provide an insight
and brief idea to the reader of the reflection to understand the concept easily. For writing a
reflection Gibbs model is very helpful which is explained in the following points-
Gibbs Six stage model
Description- it is the first stage of Gibbs reflective model within which the whole
scenario is discussed and described in this stage. In the present case which outlines the role of a
commander states that on the basis of some test conducted by him founded some results which
are discussed in this point (Gilbert, Foulk and Bono, 2017). The person in lecture 7 prepared a
video for a project and was very nervous in giving the presentation in front of many people. But
then also we tried to give the presentation and after the presentation we had to redo it. Again in
next lecture that is lecture 8 we had to give the presentation again, and we all were a bit nervous.
I also found that many people were trying to interrupt my work which affected my efficiency of
working. But at last I was able to give the presentation successfully.
Many tests like DISC model, Belbin team roles, dimensions of leadership, enneagram
and many more were studied (Cunliffe and Easterby - Smith, 2017). The results of these tests are
very helpful in developing my personality. The results of these test are like in DISC model I got
dominance with 39 %. In the test of how reflective I am I scored 45. Similarly, in 8 dimensions
of leadership I was suggested that I am use diplomat style of leadership. Further, according to
Belbin team role I was driver who is very energetic and ambitious and a strong motivator. At last
in enneagram personality test I was awarded with the personality type of helper who loves to

help every person and thinks that it is the selfless duty of me to help others (Wong and
Eleftheriades, 2018).
Feelings- it includes the feeling that the writer had while doing anything. In the present
case I felt very nervous and anxious to give the presentation. This is because of the reason that
many people were interrupting my presentation so this distracted me. I have undergone some test
for analysing my personality. Firstly I tested the fact that how reflective I am that is fluently i can
share my thoughts and feelings in form of a reflection. With this analysis I felt that I can write a
reflective report. Also, with help of DISC model I felt that I am 39 % dominant that is I can
dominate other people up to some extent. Dominance helps in to have control over the working
of others.
Also, I felt that according to Belbin team roles I am a driver. It means that I am very
energetic and ambitious and also good at motivating the behaviour of others according to the
needs and requirement of the work. Also, I am a helper by nature and selflessness is my duty. I
am a stows type of person who are very emotional and warm people and greatly care about their
personal relationships. As a helper I love to help others and make them feel comfortable and
develop a sense of entitlement when it comes to being closer to person and help them.
Evaluation- according to Horsley, Artoni and La Rocca, (2015), this stage includes
evaluating the whole work and outlining its positive and negative both outcomes. In the present
case it was found that the leadership used was dominant style of leadership. This leadership style
was very helpful because the diplomat leaders are very affiliative that always try to keep the
group together. As I was working in a group for the presentation so it helped very much in
keeping the group together as a whole. Also, the enneagram which is a method of understanding
the psyche of human which includes nine interconnected personality types.
Out of these the type 2 that is the helper personality is better in me. In my opinion this is
my strength that I am very helpful for others. I think that working and helping others selflessly is
my duty. I am generally a twos type of person that means I am very emotional, warm and caring
for others to a great extent. But in contrast the role of driver within me is only 17 %. It means
that I am not that good at driving people to do work according to me. So this can be treated as
my weakness. This is known by the test of Belbin team role which outlines nine different roles
and out of which I liked the role of driver which drives and influence other person to work
according to my requirement and directions.
