1EVIDENCE BASED NURSING Strategy or intervention to facilitate EBP: The research study byBlack et al. (2015)used the strategy of providing research training on evidence based practice (EBP) to point-of-care clinician to help them effectively use research evidence in practice. Half of the participants in the sample population included nurses. The program focussed on providing research training intervention in a health care organization. Each team in the program were assigned a research mentor and develop a research proposal. They attendedworkshops on fundamentalknowledge about research methods, literaturereview techniques and research ethics. They were given three months to design a research proposal. The participantswereassessedregardingknowledge, willingnessandabilitylevelspostthe intervention.Theinterventionwasassociatedwithsignificantimprovementinresearch knowledge. The intervention was effective in filling gaps in skills by providing education, mentorship and support to engage in generation of research evidence. The program was associated with increase in EBP. I feel that using the above mentioned strategy can increase my thinking and attitude towards EBP because by taking part in such workshops, I will become familiar with research skills and the way to review research papers. This knowledge will help me to identify high quality research papers related to a clinical problem. The experience of being supported by a research mentor will address all my doubts related to application of research evidence in practice. Hence, I will be able to relate client scenario with specific research study and engage in effective decision making for health of patient. Research training program is a useful initiative to acquire skills required for EBP (LoBiondo-Wood & Haber, 2017).
