INTRODUCTION
Nurses need to do research as it assists them to enhance their skills and knowledge in
order to serve better patient care. Information literacy skills makes nurses utilize their knowledge
and skills more effectively and help them in patient care management. Evidence based practices
are very crucial for nurses as it help them as they can gather the evidences and utilize them in
their further assessment. In the given assessment, there is a brief discussion how nurse utilizes
their acquired knowledge and skills in their further practices. The report will provide a general
information about how nurses can improve their knowledge and skills in order to provide quality
health services.
MAIN BODY
To become a nurse it very crucial to get a bachelor degree in nursing and getting the
degree makes nurses acquire skills and knowledge and help them to deliver safe patient care.
Nurses need to improve their skills and it take effort and practice. Nurses need to communicate
effectively to patients and their family members to give quality health services to patients. They
need to be in tune according to patient's need which assist them to counsel their patients. Lack of
arrogance is very crucial as nurses also deal with patients with horrific aggression. There are
certain strategies, nurses can implement in order to increase their nursing profession such as
being a good listener, respecting patient's privacy, always having good intentions and being
polite. Nursing strengths include compassion for patients, ability to solve the issues, flexibility,
leadership abilities, endurance and attention to detail. Honesty is very important n order to build
trusting relationship with patients. Nurses acquire knowledge based strengths from their
academic experiences, personal life and work (Hanshaw and Dickerson, 2020). Nurses may
improve their acquired skills by exploring advanced nursing education, learning how to
communicate effectively, making a commitment to knowledge and service and joining a
professional nursing organisation.
Evidence based practices in nursing is an combination of research attestation, patient's
preferences and clinical expertise. Evidence based practices assists nurses to form clinical
questions to identify the problem, analyse the evidence, assess the result and apply the evidence
to clinical practices. Evidence based practices assist nurses to make well-founded decisions in
patient care management. It enables nurses to monitor and evaluate the benefits and risk of
