Identified gap is
lacking skills of
dressing of chronic
wound.
There are various
skills I would
require to leach as
a registered
nurse since it
would be helpful
me to support
patient in faster
healing.
The type of activity
would involve
looking for wound
dressing. Along
with this, it is
systematic
evaluation of the
patient is required
since it is crucial
for accurate care
provision for the
patient with chronic
wound. It would be
done with the
assistance of the
older registered
nurses with for
approximately six
months through on
job training
The described
action plan for the
identified learning
need would facilitate
the patient centred
care for the patient
with chronic
wound such as
venous leg ulcers.
It would help in
facilitating
approach of
treatment,
support the faster
healing and it
will also increase
the patient
satisfaction.
During my
practice I have
identified that I lack
the skills of chronic
wound dressing
especially venous
leg ulcers. Since
chronic wounds
are difficult to
treat, the lack in
knowledge made
me incompetent
to provide care to
the patient with
chronic wound
especially, the
venous leg ulcer.
