Excreta of animals and other organic waste from dairy, poultry, aquaculture like by-products from meat processing, bedding material are considered as animal wastes. Livestock is an important part of the ecosystem but the waste produced from these have several impacts on human health and environment. Zoonotic pathogens are present in animal manure which get transferred to human via food causing severe illness. Improper discharge and leakage in storage of animal waste pollutes drinking water and other water resources causing many water borne diseases also affects the marinelife. Factories producing manure releases many harmful gasses like hydrogen sulphide, ammonia etc which pollutes air and effects human health. As per the growing need, there has been tremendous increase in the volume of livestock consumption. This in addition promotes the cattle and livestock business that results to increase in animal waste generated from these. There has to be control from Superfund and EPCRA if need to protect our water resources, air from being contaminated so that it ultimately minimizes the impactsof these on human health. There has to be regulation on the amount of pollutants released by the agricultural business which releases poisonous gases and there should be proper waste management policies to control its affects (Burkholder et al., 2007).
