IT Infrastructure Upgrade Proposal for Priority Advertising Company

Executive summary
Anyone sensible about technology will tell you that technology is growing day in and
day out. Each day, there are a number of inventions that made in the technological
areas. These inventions are meant to improve business operations. Business
organizations that impress technology benefit, them that remain skeptical remain
behind in terms technology and general functioning of the business. Technological
advancements are taking place in every area of technology. Main areas where
technology has grown very fast is software followed by hardware. These are the
basis of IT infrastructure.
The witnessed advancements is as a result of demands from IT Infrastructure
consumer’s wavering needs. The needs of yesterday in computing have totally
changed toady. In response to these the developers have to offer a solution to the
user requirements and hence, the tremendous advancement Information
Technology area.
Our Priority Advertising Company is one of the consumers of technology who
require to improve in the operations of the business. The outgrowing number of
employees and business partner base has forced the company to purchase a
building in Brisbane Suburb and lease another one in Toowoomba town. The two
buildings require to be installed with IT infrastructure services which should support
the sustenance of its customers.
In this article, we propose to the stakeholders of Priority Advertising Company a
work plan and resources to be implemented for the two buildings. Note the Brisbane
Suburb building has five floors. We assume that each floor will be occupied by one
of the five departments and Priority Advertising Company. Toowoomba office will be
occupied by the planned 8 eight employees. These employees will be sitting on the
same floor as one department.

Introduction
As explained in the summary area that technology has seen wide range of change
in the past few days, there is need also for the organizations that exists in the era of
changes to move together with events as they happen. Priority Advertising
Company has accepted this call and its management saw it better for them to have
an upgraded IT infrastructure system (Teare, et al., 2014).
Priority Advertising Company is a medium sized organization with a total population
of ninety three in Brisbane and eight Toowoomba office. These employees are
logical grouped into departmental functional groups. The primary departments are
marketing, graphics design, human resource and accounting, photography and
advertising. Each department require different IT infrastructure services with
respect to functional operations. Departments such graphics and film editing will
require computers which are of high and best specifications which can support their
functional duties.
Project proposal
In consequence to the response to the needs posed by Priority Advertising Company
in terms of IT infrastructure, the following solutions are prosed to fully support the
daily activities of Priority Advertising Company:
Database system
A database can be described as a repository where information about objects can
stored in pre-arranged manner and can be easily be retrieved and worked on,
updated and stored again. Our business objects in this case are the employees,
business partner information, supplier information and assets of the company. This
service is very necessary as most of the times when decisions are about to be made
there should exist tangible facts about the decisions. Reports generated by the
database service will play a very big role in such a situation. Therefore, its
implementation will not be a waste (Hui, 2013).
Email
Electronic mail poses to be one of the most outstanding form of formal
communication within an organization and communication between organizations.
This is because of its ability to be referred to after a period of time, its speed of

sending the message and cost of the service. Priority Advertising Company require
this service to assist in the communications process.
File sharing and storage
File storage and sharing one of the IT infrastructure services which being impressed
by thousands of organizations due its ability to share storage resources. Note that
storage resources initially used to be standalone on the users computers. In case
where a user wanted to get a file from another user copying the file and pasting to
the USB stick was the primary option available, especially when the files were huge.
This hindered collaboration on working to the file. However, with arrival of file
sharing and storage technology, files are centrally stored and accessed by
authorized parties regardless of their physical location. This technology will really
find its use in Priority and Advertising Company. Note that even the employees from
the filming and video shooting department who are on the site will be able to access
this storage service not considering their remote location (Ando, et al., 2013).
Internet
Internet as an IT infrastructure service is necessary to allow communication
between an organization and the external world. Furthermore, this service enables
the company employees especially marketing to search for market. This improves
the ultimate profits of the organization (Grimes & Stevens, 2012).
Security
An IT computing environment without an outlined security layout is considered to be
incomplete. This is because, lack of security as an IT infrastructure makes the whole
system vulnerable to attack. If the system is attacked by the hackers, they can
choose to bring down the whole organization by a single click. Thus, implementation
of this service is inevitable.
DNS and DHCP
DNS as a service performs the function of resolving IP addresses to computing
devices and vice versa. This is a great service as it will permits users of a network to
access shared services and resources on the network by querying computer names
rather than mastering the computer IP addresses. On the other hand, the DHCP
service manages IP addresses by assigning IP addresses together with other
parameters such as DNS IP address, default gateway and subnetmask for a period
