CRITIQUE1
The aim of this paper is to critique an article named Exercise participation decisions of Jordanian
myocardial infarction patients: application of the decisional conflict theory by Al-Hassana and
Wierenga (2000). This Particular article is focused on the utility of decisional conflict theory of
Janis and Mann in 1977 in explaining the decisions for participating in the exercise to follow a
myocardial infraction. Which material study has examined the stress of the patients suffering
from myocardial infraction is the indicator of additional conflicts to interactions between the
percent advantages or barriers to exercise. In addition to this the article finds out the ability of the
theory to predict the decisions of patients suffering from myocardial infraction to exercise daily
basis. Here the authors have given more attention to the theories of effective decision making to
explain the participation of the patients in the exercise. According to the authors, exercise in a
regular basis has a great impact on the physical and psychological functions in a normal person
along with the patients suffering from myocardial infraction. The participation of this patients in
this particular program has been recorded and the authors have retail these by showing
percentage of participants.
In addition to showing the participation rate of the patients suffering from myocardial infraction
in Jordan the authors have pointed out various barriers of exercise and perceived benefits of such
actions. These barriers stress has been one of the most important factor which is worsening the
situation of the patients. These authors have analysed how the concepts of daily exercise decision
has become a determinants and they are overlooking their interactions on the decision making
process. there is a stress regarding decisional conflict where some of the investigators as pointed
out in this article have reported that the decisional conflicts take place as the individual patient
for receive benefits and barriers to do health actions.

CRITIQUE2
This particular article is well formatted where Al-Hassan and Wierenga (2000), have included
literature review with hypothesis, method of sample collection, measures and procedures. The
results of these survey methods are discussed along with the limitation of the study. Towards the
end also mentioned about recommendation that must be taken by the patients suffering from
myocardial infraction in Jordon and how the health care experts can take initiatives to solve
division conflicts.
In the literature review part, the authors have mentioned about objective belief and psychological
stress into the decision conflict theory by Janis and Mann. In this they have mentioned about the
decision making behaviour of the individuals that they used to manage any risky situation. Many
of the researchers on whom this article has detailed the points of view. Depending upon the
theory of decision making conflict it has been identified that there are four decision making
behaviour which include Vigilance, delaying, Procrastination and buck passing. This notes that
as the decision conflict increases the psychological stress depending upon decisional conflict can
influence the behaviour of the decision makers. The decision making behaviour also includes
tendency to rely on the others for decision and hyper vigilance which refers to inadequate search
for the information above consequences of any decision.b vigilant decision making is adaptive
while the other three are non-adaptive behaviours. Now to the researchers Vigilance as adaptive
decision making behaviour is associated with a low level stress whereas the non adaptive
decision making behaviour is associated with higher level of stress. Stress conceptualization is
one defining feature of internal conflicts and is found to be related significantly to find out the
benefits as well as barriers of the health action. Some of the authors have found that more profit
and loss that the individuals had anticipated from the upcoming events the more they experience
