INTRODUCTION
Research is associated with defining of some idea or topic by which some significant
conclusion can be drawn. Research is helpful in identifying such dimensions and attributes
which helps the researcher to reach out to a desired conclusion (Miller, 2017). This project is
associated with analysing of research nature and principles as well. With the help of research
principles overall research can be executed in most advantageous and ethical manner so that
critical research can also be executed in systematic and impactful manner. This is profitable for
researcher to use such principles in research process so that overall objectives of the proposed
research can be attained.
Nature of Research
Research can be conducted through various modes. It consists of identifying characteristics and
attributes of a product, service, or any subject through various modes such as interviews or
group discussions, statistical analysis, surveys, or combinations of multiple modes (Loud and
et. al., 2016). Below given are the nature and type of research:
Descriptive Research the variant of research is conducted to study and describe population,
situation, scenario. It primarily focuses on how, what, when and where type of questions rather
than insisting of “Why”. This helps when assertion of situation is more important rather than
the reason of its existence at first place (Jindal-Snape, Cantali, MacGillivray and Hannah,
2019). For example, an investor is considering investing in the dynamic housing market of
Amsterdam. In this scenario, he is looking to get complete understanding of the market, it’s
drivers, trend, current state of market, what is the trend and curve of its increase or decrease
rather than asking why he wants to invest in Amsterdam. This is the situation where Descriptive
research can be helpful in making the right decision.
Primary & Secondary Research are associated with two type of data and information is
gathered by the researcher, i.e. Primary information/data, and Secondary Information/Data.
Primary information collected through direct interactions with source which helps in arriving at
the conclusion for research whereas secondary information is collected through secondary
sources which assist the conclusion derived from Primary information (Bergin, 2018). Some of
