1EXPRESSION OF SELF ESTEEMIntroduction: The essay aims at discovering the reactions of the colleagues on a state where I declaremyself as the best Cloud computing expert of the company. Self-esteem defines the overallsubjective emotional evaluation that defines the worth of the person (Baumeister 2013). Theessay analyses the colleague’s reactions depending on the organizational culture and the culturalexpectations common to the people of Malta. The essay also puts forward my thought if thebehavior of the coworker’s is different from the predicted cultural expectations. Reaction of the Colleagues and Why Such a ReactionMy self-esteem has motivated me to make a declaration about being the best cloud-computing expert of the company. Self-esteem focuses on the beliefs that one possess abouthimself or herself. I believe that self-esteem holds an importance since it is an importantdetermining factor of thoughts and behavior. It helps in changing the feelings of a person aboutoneself and at the same time adds value to it. Self-esteem makes you more confident andinfluences your thought in a bigger manner. I work at a place in an organization in Malta. Maltese cultures helps in defining thecorrect behavior and etiquette based on familiarity, age, status and social connection. TheMaltese people range from being reserved to courteous, warm and expressive. The majority ofthe people in Malta speak both English and Maltese (Galea 2013). These people also speakItalian. The official publications are in English, Maltese languages while the commercial, andbusiness documents are in English. The Maltese people are Roman Catholics whose freedom ofreligion guaranteed as constitutional right.

2EXPRESSION OF SELF ESTEEMI have seen Maltese people as being courteous and friendly. These people are informaland prefer creating an atmosphere of trust building before the performance of any sort ofbusiness activities (Carbonaro 2015). Since people in Malta speak in an exciting and animatedmanner, therefore I believe their initial reaction about me being the best cloud-computing expertwould be of excitement. The people of Malta are quite open-minded and I believe that theywould accept what I say with open arms. There are varieties of workers at my workplace inMalta. This includes the office gossiper, the comedian, hard worker, storyteller, the yes man andthe moaner. The Office gossiper refers to the news reporter who has information regarding everypossible staff (Lis and Navarretta 2014). These people take my Self-estimated declaration andspread it like a wildfire thereby resulting in some negative as well as some positive reviews. Tosome, I being the best computation expert might seem like a manipulative step to move up theladders. This is so because some of them also possess a strong sense of identity. Then there is the comedian who uses the humor in building positive relationships with thecolleagues. This character makes use of several tricks for reaching the heart of the people. Thesepeople would take my stance as the most hilarious anecdotes that might have two connotations,one positive and the other negative. Then there is the over committed or hardworking colleague who is not only the first butalso the last person to leave the office (Catania and Randall 2013). He is the one who does nottake unnecessary breaks and has boundless enthusiasm towards work. To such a colleague, myself-esteem could hear his or her self-esteem who might think himself as the potential contender.
