The study will focus on understanding the health of the ageing population, evaluating the impact on services, and determining key challenges. tends to focus on providing wide range of better care support and services which in turn helps in

The key reason for choosing this topic is highly related with the health education. This topic
the ageing population and its impact on the various services available is linked to the subjects
which I am studying. This way it helps in broadening the knowledge set of the particular study.
Another key reason for choosing the topic is that because I have academic as well as personal
interest to gain wider set of knowledge related with the subject matter. Moreover, this topic helps
in attaining various set of career goals and improve my knowledge
Significance and resources required
The key resources required to carry out the study are interest, stationary, library, books,
journals, human resource, financial resource, campus, equipment, etc. in order to effectively
carry out the study with utmost accuracy and efficiency. This study is going to be very relevant
for the health care practitioners, lecturers, professors, health industry and future researcher, etc.
which helps in broadening the knowledge on the specific subject matter.
LITERATURE REVIEW
To understand the ageing population and their health.
Tullo, Khoo, and Teodorczuk, (2015) sought to determine the fact that, the population of the
United Kingdom has been increasing at a greater pace. The population will increase at a rational
pace over the next 10 years which in turn will impose high degree of strain on the National
Health Service department. The change in the ageing structure is mainly because of there is
improvement in the life expectancy which eventually results in people living longer and also
reaching an older age. There are certain set of health conditions which in turn is considered to be
very challenging for the health care system with the increase in the number of the ageing
population. Ageing population tends to have high degree of health condition such as heart
disease, asthma, depression, type 2 diabetes, cancer, obesity, increase in falls, dementia, etc.
which in turn largely impact the quality of life of the aged people. Subsequently, Jones, (2016)
argued that, in order to effectively address the increase in the number of the ageing population,
the NHS in turn will focus on integration of the new technologies and also proper training must
be given to the workers of the NHS which in turn helps in carrying the business operations with
utmost accuracy and efficiency. The health care system in turn must tend to focus on
implementation of the multi- disciplinary approach in order to make sure that the better care and
treatment is given to the ageing population within the health and social care system.

increased level of impact on the ageing population. Over the next 10 years the population of the
UK will continue to age and also the workforce of the NHS. These health conditions are
considered to be a major challenge for the healthcare system among the ageing population.
Subsequently, Maruthappu, and Keogh, (2015) argued that, the population of the UK in turn has

the person. The NHS needs to comply with the new set of advanced technology with optimum

considered to be as one of the major challenge associated with the
providing of care services by NHS to the ageing population. Howdon, and
Rice, (2018) established is view points by stating that, One of the key challenges associated with
ageing population is that the incidence of obesity, diabetes, chronic conditions, stroke, heart

diseases, cancer are likely to be continue to increase among the aged population. One of the
increasing ageing population concern is that the sustainability and structure of the federal
program is a major challenge. Change in the family structure and diversity of caregivers tends to

Research methods: This methodological strategy is very significant to attain valid set of
data which helps in gaining specific results and outcomes. It is classified into quantitative and
qualitative research methods (Basias and Pollalis, 2018). Qualitative method are considered to be
more flexible which is useful in gaining new set of knowledge with the help of theoretical
perspective. On the other hand, Quantitative methods are useful in the systematically describing
large collection on statistical and numerical information. The researcher of the study will select
qualitative research methods in order to evaluate the ageing population and its impact on the
various services available.
Research philosophy: It is a norm according to which the particular study must be carried
out. It is classified into positivism and interpretivism philosophy (Johnson and Christensen,
2019). Positivism philosophy is very useful in adhering to the key facts of the information which
has been gained through observational senses. Interpretivism philosophy is very relevant in
integrating the human interest within the subject matter to effectively interpret various key
elements of the specific study. The researcher of the study will select interpretivism philosophy
to critically evaluate the impact on the various services available to the ageing population.
Research design: It is a specific framework associated with the research methods which
is very useful in the integration of varied variables of subject matter in a rational manner. This is
one of the most relevant methodology which helps in taking into consideration the specific
problem related with the research topic. It is classified into exploratory and descriptive research
design. Exploratory method is useful in exploring the various research problems by providing
theoretical and hypothetical approach related with the specific research problem (Creswell and

methodology is very useful in describing and observing the various behaviours related with the
study without even influencing the subject. The researcher of the study will select descriptive

Research approach: It is a planned procedure which comprises of phases of wide
conventions in the detailed manner which eventually helps in addressing the problem associated
with the subject matter. It is classified into inductive and deductive approach. Inductive
approach is useful because it helps in proposing relevant theories to attain conclusive results. It is
useful in observing various patterns of the study (Basias and Pollalis, 2018). On the contrary,
deductive approach is useful in exploring the various known phenomenon and also test which is
very beneficial in the formulation and development of hypothesis. This approach in turn doesn’t
deal with the hypothesis. The researcher of the study will select inductive approach to provide
effective recommendation providing best possible care services to the ageing population.
Data collection: It is an approach to collect wide set of data which is very prominent in
collecting the data which eventually helps in the collection of all the information which
eventually leads to higher better results and outcomes. It is classified into primary and secondary
source of data collection. Primary source of data is useful in gathering new and relevant
information for the very first time with the help of observations, experiments, polls,
questionnaire, etc. On the other hand, the secondary source of data is very useful in exploring the
already collected data sets which in turn helps in gaining wider set of knowledge (Kumar, 2019).
This can be done through journals, books, manuals, transcripts, blogs, articles, newspaper, etc.
The researcher of the study will select primary and secondary source of data collection to
evaluate the ageing population and its impact on the various services available on NHS.
Sampling: This is an appropriate measure which helps in the selection of the relevant size
of the sample from the large number or degree of the population in order to collect the right set
of information related to the subject matter (Johnson and Christensen, 2019). It is classified into
probabilistic and non- probabilistic sampling methods. Probabilistic method tends to give each
individual equal chance from the population to get selected within the sample size. On the
contrary, non- probabilistic method eventually do not give equal opportunity to get selected
within the sample size (Almalki, 2016). The researcher of the study will select probabilistic
sampling methods where 10 health care practitioners of the NHS will be selected in order to
critically evaluate the impact on the various services available to the ageing population.

Data Analysis: It is an appropriate measure which helps in effectively analysing the data
which has been gathered and selected by the researcher (Litosseliti, 2018). It is classified into
SPSS analysis and thematic analysis. SPSS analysis is used to carry out quantitative data which
helps in systematically arranging wide data sets which helps in better results. On the contrary,
thematic analysis in turn is considered to be very useful in analysing the various themes of the
study. It helps in understanding the related data sets which helps in better understanding of the
patterns. The researcher of the study will select thematic analysis to evaluate the ageing
population and its impact on the various services available and also the key challenges faced
while providing care services to the ageing population.
Ethical consideration: The research would conductor is an ethical and prominent manner
by taking informed consent form to participants of the study (Jensen, 2017). The research will be
carried out using proper use of resources without harming any participants while carrying out the
study. The participants is to have high degree of flexibility to enter and leave the research. All
the data will be collected from relevant sources and the researcher will also site the information.
Moreover, the researcher will also comply with the GDPR laws to protect all the information and
also take necessary measures to preserve confidential information.
Research limitation: The major limitation while carried out the study is that it is a wide
topic which has huge range of information (Quinlan and et.al., 2019). It is very difficult to collect
accurate information from large number of data sources available in the market. Another major
limitation was time constraint. However the researcher of the study has made an effective action
plan to complete the task before deadline.

of the study will in turn tends to focus on creating an effective action plan which helps in
understanding which task to be completed when. This will in turn help in completion of the task
before deadline without missing any of the deadline. All the data will be collected from relevant
sources and the researcher will also site the information (Bramwell and et.al., 2015). The major
