In the recent past days, instances of plagiarism have been among university learners in
the UK as well as other learning institutions around the global community. The learners had
became so reliant on such vice that they could not stay without committing it, as it had been the
straightforward model for them to do their school assignments. According to Boliver (2013),
most graduates within the UK had in one way of the other engaged in cases of plagiarism while
undergoing their studies. Apparently, graduates did not understand what they had been learning
that eventually influenced them at their places of work. The performance of most graduates in
the UK at their places of work had been attributed to a lack of adequate expertise or experience
together with understanding during their period of study. In most cases, employers are unable to
employ qualified individuals as the graduates had considered to have been incompetent in
applying their knowledge in employment sector (Shafer 2014). Therefore, the principal objective
of this research paper is to evaluate the extent of plagiarism within universities within the UK.
Besides, the examination focuses on discussing possible solutions that can be used to eradicate
plagiarism in the UK that has been termed to be unethical behavior.

The developed nations such as the United Kingdom (UK) have not been left out in the
situation of plagiarism in universities within the region. The practice had been on an increasing
end as the number of learners being caught in engaging in practices of cheating at the top
universities in the area had increased in the last three years (Zhang et al., 2013). Such cases had
led to warnings by different experts that most of the universities around the UK tend to ignore

that such problems existed. The ignorance of this menace had lead to posing the learning
institutions in the region to a greater danger of having unqualified graduates around the job
markets. Furthermore, different universities around the area are presented in the midst of the
epidemic of plagiarism after the recent investigation. The investigation in various universities
around the region had been recorded that almost fifty thousand earners were caught cheating in
the past three academic years (Ali, Ismail, and Cheat 2015). Moreover, out of one hundred and
twenty-nine universities around the UK that were involved in the investigation, the University of
Kent became on top with the enormous cases of misconduct committed in different academic
endeavors. The university had a total of one thousand nine hundred and forty-seven and was
being followed by the University of Westminster that has different instances of academic
misconduct.
Plagiarism in UK universities
The worrying trend in education sectors within the UK had raised much criticism from

point. Before looking for solutions to this problem, every education stakeholder in the education

work that requires being finished within the particular semester. Additionally, learners need to be
