Review
The present theme is based on Faberge in London: Romance to evolution. This exhibition
is organized at London which is dedicated to celebrate the Russian goldsmith who knows for
their lavish creation which is synonym of opulence. The present theme is also based is designed
to assess the lavishness of Faberge. Here, discussion will be carried out regarding Faberge eggs
that is best known creation of Faberge. These eggs are not only famous among the Russian
family but also liked by the other people living at different parts of the world. In the present time,
the popularity of Faberge is enhancing day by day as the people are likely to purchase the
Faberge jewels and eggs. The designs of Faberge are revolutionary which are liked by the clients
in significant manner (Thatcher, 2020). The jewellery is generally purchased by rich people to
enhance their beauty. In addition to this, Faberge jewellery is known for its delicacy, designs and
more. It is the way to celebrate the opulence and lavishness of London based goldsmiths.
Section 1:-Project Proposal:
While undertaking the project, I am able to draw efficient designs including one and two
Faberge objects such as Faberge eggs and other botanical items. Here, I will prepare efficient
designs to get better response from the clients in future. The designs has been prepared based on
primary data as well as secondary information I have been gathered from various sources. Here, I
used to prepare the designs and use simplistic way of pen and pencil to share my idea with other
people. This is because I have been understand that I can easily grow by preparing design by my
hands instead of using other digital mediums for the same purpose. While using the pen & pencil
medium, I was able to use my own creativity and creation that allows me to think out of the box
and developing the efficient designs. While doing the next project, I will use my strength as a
sketch designer to create unique February designs in future.

Section 2-Project Concept
To complete the final project, a design will be prepared based on theme of romance to
revolution on the Faberge. For preparing the design, I will be required ample of resources. I need
to collect the information regarding market demand so that I can prepare Faberage eggs
accordingly. For this purpose, I will select the design of Feberage to make the jewelery more
elegant and beautiful. The design will based on royal look and will help in gaining attention of
customers significantly. There will be focus on romantic elements associated with Faberge
Jewelery like Faberge botanical Jewelery and Faberge eggs. I will also link the evaluation with
Russian Revolution as it plays an important role in shaping the current jewelry collection.
Section 3- Evaluation:
During the evaluation, I ensure that all the stages are recorded appropriately which will
make myself enable to evaluate the work constantly. With this, I can easily identify my own

mistakes so that I can take necessary corrective actions in the future period of time. Here, mind
mapping and moodboard will help me in demonestarting the concept in an efficient manner.
Mind Map:
Mind map is a visual representation of information so that the overall concept can be
understood in an efficient manner. Here, the information is represented in a hierarchical manner
by showing the relationships among different pieces as a whole. Mind map is usually created
around a particular concept that helps in understanding a particular concept in better manner. In
present context, mind map includes the central idea of Feberge that is linked with different ideas
of Kelc eggs, ornaments, internal articles, botanical Faberge and more (Lorton, 2021). This is a
proper way of research completion so that final results can be determined effectively.

Primary research:
In case of primary research, the investigator used to visist at difefernt exhibitions,
workshops to collect appropriate data. In present context, the researcher used to read ample of
books and journals to collect necessary amount of data in an efficient manner.

Annotation 1: Illustration of Faberge egg has been created on the basis of inspiration from floral
elements by Peter Karl Faberge in different Faberge eggs like the spring flowers egg.
Annotation 2: In this illustration, the floral design that is going to add inside the Faberge egg
has been provided significantly. This is inspired by the botanical jewelery by Peter Carl Fabrege
that looks like a floral jewelry found in nature.

Secondary research:
The secondary research is also known as desk research where the information is gathered from
already available data. It refers to the information that has already been published in research
report, articles or in any other document. For purpose of current project, secondary data has been
taken from necessary books, websites, articles and more.
According to the views of Anderson (2021), the stories told by Faberge eggs add to their
appeal for people who are interested in art or history. Understanding the history of the Faberge
eggs tells the story of aristocratic hubris which resulted in the public starting revolution towards
overthrowing the monarchy and securing democratic values which are followed and protected by
the world Aside from the fact the original Faberge eggs are rare and built with expensive
material, their link with a lost romanticised age increases their value .The Faberge eggs tell the
tale of time in history which is not well known unlike artefacts from other European Royal
Houses. Tsar Alexander the second who started the tradition of Faberge egg production in
Russian Royal family had both revolutionary and romantic philosophy. On one hand Tsar

Alexander implemented policies which supported liberation of the Serfs while on the other hand
he commissioned creation of Faberge egg every year. The Faberge egg production was not
stopped even during the Russian Famine of 1891, when Russian subjects were suffering because
of the ignorance of aristocrats (The Beauty and Ruin of the Fabergé Eggs, 2021). The eggs
themselves show a contrasting tale of revolution and romanticism. This is because Faberge eggs
such as Twelve Monograms egg (1896), were built to showcase grief, while other eggs such as
Siberian Railway egg (1900) celebrated a victory which lead to loss of human life.

Strengths of research:
To make my project better, I have collected tremendous amount of information from the
exihibition of Romance to Revolution: the world of Faberge. In the exhibition, they used to recall
Carl Faberge and his enterprise spread internationally. Here, the information has directly been
taken from the original designs of Faberge eggs. Apart from this, certain information has also
been collected from the historical data available regarding production of Faberge eggs. Also, the
information has been gathered through authentic primary as well as secondary sources that will
guide me to complete the respective project in a efficient manner (Dunn, 2021).
This make the foundation of overall project stronger as it is based on factual data and
information. In addition, historical data related to Faberge eggs provide more authenticity to the
overall report. With the use of mind map and moodboard, it was easy to complete the project
efficiently. Also, both tools helped in preparing a significant final design promptly. Here, the
aesthesis of research can be easily understood by looking at the mood board. The main purpose
of the current project is to demonstrate the history of Faberge eggs and its association with
Russian revolution. At end, the use of sketches can also be understood as one of the major
strength of the project as it helps the audience to understand the entire project promptly.
Weaknesses of research:
During the research, I faced numerous issues time management was one from those.
While working on the current project, I face constraints in terms of managing my time in proper
manner. Also, I used to devote huge time in other activities such as interacting with other
members and more. Apart from this, I was also lacking in terms of experience that affected my
overall work. During the primary research, I faced serious issues in terms of data collection from
exhibition. After collecting data from exhibition, I also need to search necessary data in books,
websites and more which is a time consuming process. The most significant drawback of the
current project is time constraint. There is requirement to have huge time to collect necessary
historical and current information about Faberge eggs and jewelery (Bjelkhagen, 2017). While
working on the project, I was disappointed from my own performance as I thought that I could
have done better. These all weakness affected the entire project profoundly.

Could have been done differently:
In the present context, the area which could have been changes is incorporation of digital
sketching technology to define the designs of various elements of Faberge eggs. It is a crucial
factor as it is important to use pen & pencil to draw the sketches to maintain the beauty as well as
appeal of Faberge eggs. Apart from this, the other area of improvement is identifying specific
techniques that were used by the original jewelers for creating Faberge eggs. This helps in terms
of providing detailed information of how botanical aspect were being done in other areas of
creating Faberge jewelery at the time of introduction of royal socities of Europe (Mollaret,
2020). This would have been provided a better view regarding the production of Faberge eggs. In
addition, I could have been focused on various other designs of drawing in order to get a detailed
prospective. Improvements in such areas would have been proved helpful in enhancing the final
designs appropriately.
